HBO have confirmed James Gandolfini has died at the age of 51. Far too young.

He reportedly suffered a heart attack while on hospital in Italy.

Very sad.

This is a real punch in the gut. The Sopranos would have been nothing without him. What an immense loss.

Really loved him in just about anything he's done. Very sad to hear this.

R.I.P I never really watched the Sopranos, but I did remember seeing him in the taking of Pelham 123 I think that's what it was called with John Travolta and I thought he was good in that.

Used to spend every Sunday night watching HBO's Sopranos with red wine and spaghetti.  When I heard this, I couldn't believe it but then two scenes that came to mind were Tony eating pancetta straight from the fridge and whip cream sprayed straight from the aerosol can.  Heart disease robbed us of a great talent and took Mr. Gandolfini at too young an age.  It was nice to see him in Zero Dark Thirty, as he was proving he could escape the type cast of an Italian mobster.  We lost an amazing actor and from all accounts a generous man.  I feel for his family and especially his son.

Very sad news and too young.  Sopranos was definitely one of my favorites.
