I would also argue that 1977's The Spy Who Loved Me was at least as important to the franchise as GE and CR.  It was the first Broccoli produced without his former partner Saltzman, it cemented Roger Moore's tenure as Bond, and gave us one of the best title songs with "Nobody Does It Better."  It also has the best pre-titles sequence ever (one GE tries to imitate but can't duplicate.)
