I agree on all points of the article. I think Lazenby would've been an excellant Bond. Behind the scenes problems caused his demise, which was unfortnate. OHMSS was a awesome Bond movie. Not the best, but very good.

He deserves more because:

1.He wasn't European.

2.He was an model.

3.He did great in OHMSS.

4.He was handsome.

5.Sean Connery was a bit too old and a bit too fat for DAF.

More or less agree with all points except the first one. Not that George could have grown as an actor, he could have but IMO each one of the other Bonds absolutely nailed the part right away in their debut films. Bond was too big of a commodity to take a chance on an untrained actor, but they did anyway, with the result being a failure or a success depending on how you look at it. 

 

I do think that OHMSS was too dramatic and emotionally heavy for Lazenby's first film. They should have shelved that film for a more experienced actor- and not necessarily the 59 39 year old Connery. I can totally picture George in a lighter, more action heavy pic like TMWTGG or TSWLM (and doing it magnificently).
