This film got a reply from Andrew Glen (John's son) on my YouTube channel, I thought you might like to hear it. Thanks Andrew!
"Well spotted Dan though your clip's doesn't make it as clear as it is in the cinema. I am the Andrew Glen you mention.. but can only take partial credit. The idea was sound editor Mark Auguste's. I played the tune on a sampler which he recorded and fitted over the ricochet sound effects. We expected it to get thrown out, but when it came up in the dubb, no one noticed. In the end we came clean. John Glen shrugged and said 'leave it in'. It went on the music cue sheet credited to Monty Norman."

Brilliant! Thanks for that post - one of the best in-jokes in the series and it sounds so good for ricochet effects!

I feel really dumb, but I don't get what this video is trying to point out.

It's hard to tell from the compressed YouTube audio, but the sound of the bullets ricocheting off the truck actually plays a few notes of the Bond theme.

Haha what? That's pretty cool, I kind of want to watch this movie now and look for this.

I was hearing for years about this, but I never noticed it when I watched the movie on video or dvd.
But a couple of weeks ago, when watching all the movies from the blu ray box, I heared it for the very first time. It's a nice touch for the die hard fans.

I noticed this a long time ago. I thought this was widely known.
