First of all, I want to thank our user Lektor because he gave me the idea for this thread.

You can find here a list of villains' objective: http://en.wikipedia....s_Bond_villains

Just to name few examples:

From Russia With Love: Blofeld/Smersh: Humiliating MI6 killing James Bond

Live And Let Die (novel): Mr. Big: Smuggle and sell ancient gold coins in order to finance SMERSH operations.

Moonraker and The Spy Who Loved Me (movies): Drax and Stromberg: Destroy all human life on Earth and recreate it in better conditions

On Her Majesty's Secret Service: Extort the world with viruses that render crops and livestock totally infertile.

What do you think the villain's objective should be in Bond 24?

If Bond 24 will see the return of Quantum, there might be a menace against the world, as many of you suggested, just like Spectre used to do.

The villain's objectives in most of the Bond films since the Fleming books were exhausted have tended to reflect what is going on in the world of the present. Even Casino Royale 2006, although basically the same story as the book, had stock market manipulation and terrorism as a backdrop. An exception was Skyfall - it had the contemporary threat of cyber terrorism, but was really a very simple tale of obsession, betrayal and revenge - M being stalked by a spurned madman.

So what for Bond 24? I think they'll probably go for a more traditional storyline of a threat to British/western/world interests and possibly have Bond working against the clock to stop whatever fiendish plan the villain has. I personally wouldn't mind a Thunderball type of story, though not necessarily underwater. And it wouldn't surprise me if the screenwriter (John Logan?) takes this opportunity to reboot one more character from the Bond series before Craig, one whose fate was never completely made clear - Blofeld. That said, I have my doubts if he'll be sporting a beige Mao jacket and a white Persian cat!

I think the villain should be using Bioterrorism as a threat against the world to extort for his own ends.

Bio terrorism has been done before, sort of, in OHMSS. My problem with Blofeld's scheme was the "Angels Of Death". They had to be alone to receive instructions from him by radio. At midnight. Late 1960s. Somehow, I couldn't help thinking they would be doing anything other than waiting for Blofeld to tune in. ;)

I think Bioterrorism could be used again though. That's an interesting concept, like the releasing of nerve gas or something.

Instead of extortion, it could be used as a straight terrorist attack. Like the Sarin gas attack in Tokyo in '95.

I think they must an opportunity to use bio weapon in Skyfall, it would be perfect and it was completely different from before....it could have happen during the The Tube scene, where Silva drop a vial of anthrax on the train making everything sick and getting away and there would be chaos

I've used the bio-terrorism plot in my book BOMBSHELL the meyhem and chaos would make excellent scenes

Politician/unknown criminal: He can be a part of politics and is trying to pull off a coup d'état and gain power of a country and has illegal business partners that he will be helping after he gains control of that country. He can have henchmen that are helping him get rid of the people in his way through blackmail, murder, and framing people.

What if North Korea tries to start World War 3 from a shadowy afar, in the pursuit to take over South Korea. Causing World War 3 would create enough of a distraction and keep allies too busy to help South Korea. North Korea doesn’t hold back and goes after everyone and in any way, to start this war.

That seems too close to Die Another Day. Also read the Dirk Pitt novel Black Wind by Clive Cussler. It contains a very similar plot line to that.

hmm. that's interesting another rich villain that kind of reminds me of Goldfinger except not taking over a country. That could work.
