Friend of mine found some interesting 3D set designs for Skyfall:

Some examples:

Casino exterior:Skyfall13.jpg

Casino interior:

Elevator scene:

But does anyone know, for which scenes this plane interior was intended for?

There's lots more on the site, including some nice Flash animations, check it out:

I recall reading somewhere that Ola Rapace had filmed a scene with Javier Bardem, the only scene in which they were together. I wonder if the jet scene is it.

These are fantastic, by the way; a great find!

Wow!  Eye-opening to say the least!  I never suspected that level of 3D work was going on in those scenes, especially the casino interior!  Thanks for posting this!

Another question is: was this made for set design only, or to what extent are tools like this used for making storyboards nowadys?

I think many blockbuster storyboards are done this way now - although they tend to be rendered in a cruder greyscale form like the last two shots. In fact if you look at the chaps site - you can see some rough animatics. I'd be curious to know if any CGI was used to enhance the sets or if this was just for the physical design.

It only makes sense that big productions go to this extent but I hadn't thought about before. Thatsecond Casino Exterior pic is gorgeous and the Casino Interior is just awesome.

I love them, the casino looks really good - very deep and looking beautiful with the colours. A perfect match for the film version.

And I've no idea about that jet interior - looks a very different sort of plane with the seating arrangements. Not sure where this could have been in the film - maybe a special jet for the British Government, or transporting convicts? No idea.

Could there be a scene of Bond transporting Silva home?

That's what I thought, a return from Asia, via jet plane carrying Bond and Silva and guards?

Might have been a scene between Silva and Bond himself, but from their scenes on the island and in the MI6 prison cell, maybe it wasn't needed?

An excellent suggestion!
