I recently picked up the revised version of the OST that includes the bonus tracks and after listening realised I should've done it much sooner! This is one fantastic soundtrack. I've always enjoyed it, but hearing the tracks so crisply in isolation from the film has made me realise its more than just nostalgia talking. The OST is comprised of several meaty tracks and not a dud among them. Hard edge guitar, delicate flutes and strings, aggressive percussion and brass, and sly xylophone. It has it all. Pure Bond, yet the product of original ideas rather than derivations of Barry.

This is probably the most 'contemporary' of all the Bond soundtracks, yet it still packs a punch and works both with the film and as stand alone work.

I'm sure there are others who share my appreciation for this one.

I should note this coincides with my recent reappraisal of Live and Let Die after having seen it for the first time in years on blu-ray.

I totally agree, Mr Teddy Bear. I played it again last week and it's absolutely deadly.

I love the bonkers notion that the whitest man in England, Sir George Martin - a former RAF man with a cut glass accent - composed a blaxploitation/voodoo flavoured score for a 70s film set in Harlem, New Orleans and Jamaica ... and it's fantastic!

I really love his groovy yet menacing arrangement of the Bond theme.

Definitely one of my favorite Bond scores!

My third favourite James Bond score - emintates the world Bond is working in at the time, 70s Harlem and battling voodoo drug barons. A very dark, dangerous score but great fun with fantastic arrangements.

And the Bond theme is something else! :)

Probably the best 'non Barry' score.

I think I am the only one to find this score terrible, I don't dislike any Bond scores and - except for Another Way To Die - any Bond songs but LALD. Maybe because Beatles made it, and I really can't stand them (so does Bond apparently).

I don't remember hearing that line when I first saw Goldfinger, I could've done without it to be honest. It just felt forced to me, then again I'm a Beatles fan.

Actually, it was just Paul McCartney on the title track as the Beatles had broken up 3 years prior. George Martin, who wrote the actual score, was the Beatles' producer for all but 1 of their albums.
