If in comparison to other films in the franchise, I wouldn't call it "fun".

 

If in comparison to the other Craig-era films, I'd say it was the most fun of them all.

 

Ultimately I'd say it was closest to the second option, but with "fun" transposed with "darkness".

 

It's darkness, with a bit of fun.
