You must be joking...

Bring along a guardian. Tall, dark and slim... my aunt, perhaps. Some very active folks at CBN first went to my events when they were minors with a chaperone, and had a heckuva time.

Just no shakens or stirreds for you, Lieutenant.

At it again eh old boy?

Go for it. I'm in. It'd be nice to go to event where all I had to do was seduce and destroy.

It's been my hobby for years.

Bring on the details and the high seas.

Lady Iceskater - Most cruises only require you to be 18 to drink and gamble...Not that I'd ever promote any such activities.

*cough*

WHAT?!

Why is everyone looking at me?

Oh....Yeah...

Anyway, should be fun. No...Really.

Some esteemed persons are asking me about booking this week. Good turnout so far including a Bond book author, Bryce OO3 himself and a former member of the NSA!

Esteemed? Me? Okay, yes, I do still hold the BCW record for continued highest bar tab, room service and spa charges. Didn't I win "best in tux" one year? Wet AND dry? I'm just going to tell the cruise line that I'm a teacher on sabbatical who has just won the lottery and see what kind of suite they offer me. It worked on the Queen Mary. They even included parking.

If it ain't broke....You know the rest. B)

Not to mention, "Is Ian Fleming--Chicago", "Stole The Show/Best Barman to George Lazenby--Los Angeles", "Mr. Amity/Most Weapons Wielded--New York" and then there's this swinging pic of you with your lady friend after that Goldfinger incident...

Updated details at https://sites.google.../site/oosailin/. Things look good for the good guys.

There has been some debate about whether to order group T-Shirts. Our model says they ought to be fitted and tailored.

Vargas does not drink, does not smoke, but finds the power to change this April aboard the Carnival Breeze.

**James Bond’s Guitar Hits Auction Block**

The guitar used to twang one of the most popular songs in history goes on auction Saturday, February 2 for $150,000 U.S. and the winner will meet its guitarist in person and cruise the Caribbean in a manner worthy of OO7 himself. The most famous guitar riff… over half the world has heard the distinctive beats of The James Bond Signature Theme as laid down by Vic Flick on his magnificent Clifford Essex Paragon De Luxe Guitar. The Bond theme celebrated its 50th Anniversary on July 27, 2012 as over a billion people listened to Flick’s guitar backing Daniel Craig and HRH Queen Elizabeth II as they leapt from a helicopter to grandly open the XXX Summer Olympiad in London, England.

Vic Flick’s cello-bodied guitar was used in 1962 to record the theme for Dr. No, one of the most covered songs in music history. Flick, anchor and band conductor for The John Barry Seven and many of Barry’s five-time Oscar-winning soundtracks and pop music hits, played on a total of eight Bond films. The winner of the eBay auction receives the world’s most famous guitar and a special day with Mr. and Mrs. Flick and the vehicles of Bond, plus airfare and a cabin for two aboard the brand new Dream-class Carnival Breeze to join OOSailin, a tour hosted by espionage experts of James Bond and spy locations in Jamaica and The Bahamas in April 2013 celebrating the 60th Anniversary of April 1953’s publication of Ian Fleming’s first James Bond novel, Casino Royale. James Bond expert Matt Sherman said, “This is a fan dream come true for a bidder to own the sound of the world’s greatest secret agent. The guitar will only increase in value over the next 50 years of James Bond books and films.”

Flick was paid the princely sum of seven pounds ten shillings for his title tune efforts (not a lot by today’s standards but okay for a working musician in London in 1962) on Dr. No. His guitar, famously rumored to have been tossed aside after anchoring a perfect sound for OO7, remained in Flick’s playing collection, recording numerous other tracks and touring worldwide, and has been exhibited at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum and traveled on tour with The National Guitar Museum.

One of the few professional guitarists of his day who could read and orchestrate music, Flick was in constant demand during the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s before leaving swinging London for homes in Santa Monica and Las Vegas. Tom Jones, Nancy Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Cliff Richard, Eric Clapton, Burt Bacharach, Henry Mancini, Shirley Bassey, Barbra Streisand, Sammy Davis, Jr., Engelbert Humperdinck, Jimmy Page and John McLaughlin are some of the many musical greats backed in recording studios by Vic Flick.

Flick played on top Beatles recordings and was handpicked as Paul McCartney’s all-time favorite guitarist to record McCartney’s epic “Thrillington” album. Beatles producer, Sir George Martin, personally requested Flick to perform for the film A Hard Day’s Night. Flick also played on many hit action and adventure films including The Pink Panther, The Ipcress File, Midnight Cowboy and more, besides scoring numerous TV programs, commercials and feature films.

Thanks, Major!

********************************

Bond is back! The BONDLIST/Bond Collectors Weekends "OOSailin Cruise" has returned in triumph from:

*Jamaica, and VILLA GOLDENEYE to sit at Mr. Fleming's writing desk and to sip rum our concierge offered, as we celebrated Bond's 60th Anniversary in print

*Miami, to explore 60 Bond vehicles from all 23 films with the DEZER BOND MUSEUM's curator, and to visit the Doug Redenius OO7 Memorabilia Collection in person

*The Bahamas, to nurse Vespers at CASINO ROYALE's One & Only Ocean Club and dip our toes in Emilio Largo's Shark Pool from THUNDERBALL

*The Turks and Caicos to beachcomb and unwind from visiting 35 more Bond film and book locations (including touring the GOLDFINGER Car Crush Plant with its owner, spearing Vargas at THUNDERBALL's Love Beach, visiting Jill Masterson's and Bond's rooms at THE FONTAINEBLEAU and dozens of other film and book locations)

One kind fan wrote, "Matt, thanks again from the bottom of my heart for a great, fantastic trip. You delivered far more than promised."

**

Yes, the OOSailin fans adored our four locations tours and our bonus visit to climb Dunn's River Falls from DR. NO. And aboard the new Carnival Breeze, they loved to shop and to attend dance, music and comedy shows, watch Bond movies and trade props and collectibles, play casino games and chat until the wee hours over smokes and drinks on the top deck.

Hours of Bond trivia challenges were also provided at sea and we watched 4D action movies, climbed a ropes course and enjoyed the Breeze's saunas and hot tubs, swimming pools, jogging track and two billiards tables.

To be honest, despite the fact that all the BONDLIST cruisers, even first timers, said they'd sail again with me, by the last evening I'd lost my appetite. So for dinner with the group I settled reluctantly on Maryland Crab Cake, Frog Legs in Butter and the Chilled Mango Ginger Soup. Oh, and also Mac & Cheese with Bacon followed by a thick wedge of Cappuccino Pie. As one fan said, "Don't everyone fill up on prime rib before our (second) lobster tail!"

It's true, OO7, dining on the ship wearied us all. At one luncheon, I wondered whether The Breeze wanted "a clean kill or to send a message" as I counted 14 lunch locations aboard including Mexican, Italian and a Mongolian Grill all made to order, and Indian, BBQ, a deli, a pizzeria, and a Chocolate Decadence Buffet, each of the 14 offering different menus and unlimited dining free of cost.

Discipline, OO7, discipline! We paced ourselves all week. After all, breakfast and lunch were often followed by Afternoon Tea then The Appetizer Taste Bar and of course, five-course dinners, sitting as a group together and unwinding or tackling trivia challenges. Somehow we managed to roll away from dinner when Moneypenny invited us for late night snacks and a nightcap to watch movies under the stars, seen from the comfort of our loungers or even the swimming pool.

One friend said it best. "The Breeze cruise and the BONDLIST group were amazing. I visited three foreign countries and Goldeneye, Largo's House and the One & Only Club in the same week! Now we can all die happy at sea, our method of execution being fine dining!"

**

On returning again to Miami, I sadly missed our overseas adventures. My heart was at home but my behind was seated at Mr. Fleming's desk in his $7,500 a night villa. Eggs Benedict and a Belgian Waffle topped with Strawberry Relish, Nutella and Pine Nuts, however, eaten 100 feet above South Beach on the Breeze's Lido Deck eased my grieving process.

Overindulgence and the soft life. Now it's Shrublands, I'm afraid, for daily herbal enemas and nightly rubdowns with Patricia. The things I do for England!

Want to see Bond's world in person next time? Another Bond fan wrote yesterday, "Another successful mission, Matt, you made us all happy. Bucket Lists for all, a big thanks for all your effort and work, dreams do come through thanks to you."

Rumor has it from Washington, DC that the next BONDLIST event will be held there, centered on CIA and The International Spy Museum. I'm also ready (after exercise and a crash diet) for another Caribbean cruise to see locations and Ian Fleming's villa. How about you?

Well that sucks I missed out on this. Found this thread in Google. Will there be any future Bond cruises. With the release of Spectre recently I think a Bond cruise would go down well.
