Regardless of who directs Bond 24, whether it be Sam Mendes or someone else, would you like Thomas Newman to return and score another film? Would you like Arnold or even a new composer?

I'd very much like it if Newman returned. I thought his score was fantastic! I was skeptic at first, because he's not used to doing action/spy films of this caliber, but then began to think that he'd do a good job. The finished product, a fantastic score that is officially my favorite Bond film score now.

If you're going to discuss spoilers from 'Skyfall', please put them into Spoiler tags, as per request by the moderators, as some people haven't seen it yet and whatnot.

I'd welcome Thomas Newman for another go, but not Adele. I still don't like her song. I'm hoping for Muse on Bond 24. But, yes Newman is fine. I wouldn't mind David Arnold coming back either. Always been fond of his scores.

To me, Newman didn't make that much impact with me on the soundtrack bar a couple of cues, at times I thought it sounded like Arnold's work.

He's done good, but it wouldn't bother me if he returned or not as I don't think he's honestly struck a nerve as a THOMAS NEWMAN James Bond score - it's just a Bond score to me.

With Mendes, I´d say: absolutely.

Without Mendes I would be interested in yet another musical voice for Bond.

I guess, after SKYFALL´s tremendous reception, EON really has to bring lots of new ideas to BOND 24. That might include the composer. I would even say that Arnold´s tenure has ended for good.

I would like to see Newman back, but I'd like Arnold to come back as well.

About the main theme... I think even Adele should be back, but maybe for Bond 25 or 26.

I think not - the music did not sell it as a Bond film for me, as accomplished as it no doubt was as a score in its own right.

Yes, I'd definitely rather hear another Newman score (as to let's say another Arnold). That doesn't mean I have a problem with David Arnold, just that I'd like to see new and promising composers get a shot and break the monopoly on a single Bond composer. Fresh ideas and all that!

Thomas Newman did an okay job, but now that the reboot appears to be over and Bond is Bond again (thank God!) David Arnold should be back. He is Barry's true successor. I would love another score like TND with full blown renditions of the Bond theme and the 007 Theme along with a title tune written by Arnold used throughout the film as an instrumental, along with an action theme akin to Snow Job in AVTAK--the way Barry did it! (I liked the Adele song and that the instrumental is indeed heard in Skyfall, but we need a little more of that next time.)

I thought Newman's score was fantastic, and worked on every level. I'd be happy to see him back. And Mendes, too.

I really liked Newman's work on Skyfall. I certainly find it more memorable than most of Arnold's work, save for CR and QoS. At some points, I was reminded of Metal Gear Solid 3 and 4, which doesn't bother me at all because I love those games. But getting back to the topic at hand, I would totally welcome Newman if he chose to return.

Bold quote to make, at least Arnold was recommended by Barry to take over the Bond series. I liked about 7 or 8 tracks on the Skyfall soundtrack so if Mendes doesn't return for Bond 24 I would rather we got a new composer, or saw a return to Arnold.

Barry also added the slide whistle in TMWTGG. We all make mistakes.

My thoughts exactly. The score was decent but yet a far cry from Barry's work. If he returns, nice, but if Arnold returns that's nice as well.

I think Michael Giacchino should do it. The Incredibles soundtrack is basically his audition for Bond.

Listen,

No! His SF score is very good but not great; for every beautifully elegant cue he delivers, there's a sedate electronic one which just doesn't sound or feel Bondian. People who're suggesting Michael Giacchino are onto something brilliant there.

Feel free to disagree, but I found that SF occasionally moves too slowly and when it does, Newman's score heightens that sense of drag rather than overcomes it. It's a good score, but far from my favourite film score let alone Bond score.

Fresh? Check.
Classy? Check.
Tense? Check.

It is unanimous. I'd welcome his return with open arms.

He's done a grand job and is a very excellent composer, so yes, of course!

I would love Sam Mendes to return for another though also. Best director to have handled 007 since Terrence Young crafted the style originally, I say. Pay him enough and pursuade him to have another! I actually think we fans should start a petition?

I'd be fine with him returning although I imagine Arnold might return for one last film and I'd be fine with that too. Although I guess that would mean that Mendes is returning to direct and I would rather someone else with Arnold being the one of the last people from the previous eras so to speak returning as did John Barry every so often with other composers.
