Having Connery in Skyfall would totally take me out of the movie, I think.

I honestly think Connery would have taken away from the film. Sure, it'd be an awesome cameo and perhaps the only time it'd be appropriate being that it's the 50th Anniversary. However, I can't help but feel it would overshadow the climax. People would come out talking about "that Sean Connery scene" and not about the narrative.
