Provided the new backround that was written for the character of James Bond since the reboot (it is canon, it's on the official casino royale website) and considering Casino Royale brought Bond at the beginning of his 00 career, (in the modern era) James Bond hasn't lived all the missions he has in the book or in the film series. So what I have always seen as modern era Bond's credentials are the videogames. Yes most people don't take them into consideration considering them non-canon, but these games do feature the voice of Daniel Craig (except Legends) and living these new missions give Craig's Bond more backstory. Bloodstone, GE, DAD, MR, LTK, GF, and OHMSS are missions he could've completed during the gap between Quantum and Skyfall. Which gives the character of tired, old and cynical Bond of Skyfall more legitimacy. What do you think?

I don't take those made-up, sometimes half-baked stories into consideration when I judge or analyze a particular Bond. That's just me.

I do however take into account space stations, men with metal teeth, double-taking pigeons, and invisible cars. :)

I enjoyed the hell out of the reimagined Goldeneye with Daniel Craig, especially considered it was modernized with new actors, giving more originality to the reloaded version. I dunno, maybe that's just me, but the story for that game in particular was well done.

Its evident that in the years between QOS and Skyfall, Craig's Bond HAS been on a lot of missions and is now established as a tired-old veteran of the 00 Section. But as to what those missions were, we really have no idea. I think we could safely say that he used the Aston Martin DB5 on at least one of those missions; but whether that was anything resembling Goldfinger or not, we cannot really be sure.

I think it's worth viewing Blood Stone and/or GoldenEye as the Bond film we should've had in 2010, as quite a lot of effort was put into making those games fit the modern-era movies' style and the return of the film cast for the voices is significant. BS was clearly intended to have a sequel too - though we probably won't ever get to see it.

Not so sure about Legends, as that seems more of an attempt to celebrate Bond's 50th anniversary than anything else. Craig didn't lend his voice to it, which to my mind suggests he doesn't consider it canon...

Me too. I don't consider video games to be canon in any franchise.

Agreed. I'd like to think Craig-Bond has experienced something analoguous to the events of Goldfinger and the Aston Martin had been "customized" by Q (who might've perished in the MI6 attack hence Whishaw being the new Quartermaster).
