Note his response to Silva.

What do we make of it?

Noel Coward, an openly gay friend of Ian Fleming, spent many a vacation at Goldeneye in Jamaica...and we know there's plenty of gay, lesbian and bisexual subtext in the Flemings as well in the EON Bonds.

John Logan is gay, I believe. Perhaps Broccoli and Michael Wilson gave him carte blanche in SkyFall?

Anyway ... is James Bond bisexual?

Thoughts?

Don't be silly.

007 is unflappable, he said "what makes you think it's my first time?" just to make Silva realise that he's a confident and assured person, impervious to his come-ons.

Doubt a tied man can do that much... perhaps he could have used his razor-.blade Rolex to get out of Silva's harrasement! :D

Some people claim it’s because I’m, in fact, gay but not true at all. Sam and I were discussing, there were so many scenes where Bond goes mano-a-mano with the villain, whether it’s Dr. No or Goldfinger or whatever, and there’s been so many ways to do a cat-and-mouse and intimidate Bond, and we thought, what would truly make the audience uncomfortable is sexual intimidation; playing the sort of homoerotic card that is sort of always there subtextually with characters like Scaramanga in Man With the Golden Gun or Dr. No. So we just decided that we should play the card and enjoy it

No, I don't think he's bi-sexual, he just knew the most appropriate response to to throw off Silva. Craig's Bond has been tied, naked, to a chair before in Casino Royale - he could very well be referring to that.

I simply saw it as Bond's countermove to Silva's approach. Silva was trying to make Bond uncomfortable and Bond took the steam out of it.

Nope - not bisexual at all.

He's confident, in control and always has the upper-hand and shows Silva he's not intimidated and can fight fire with fire. As we saw when he told Le Chiffre he had "...a little itch, down there?", it was showing his wit and confidence, and no fear, to the enemy at a time he thought he was most vulnerable.

As Silva said, teasing him, what does his training require him to do now. It's all a game, psycological maybe but also a little something more for Silva.

So Silva is just goading over Bond and enjoying being in control as he is restrained, but Bond fires straight back and takes him off guard that he's wise to his moves, and for Silva to give his excellent response!

So in simple terms of sexuality, he's hetro.

This.

Also, I saw it as a reference to LeChiffre´s, um, coming on to him.

Bond was also an Etonian, for two halves at least, make of that what you will. But no, he's straight - much to my flatmates disappointment.
