Frankly, I don't care very much for romantic comedies, but if it has to be, I'd suggest a few classics: 'Bringing up Baby' (Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn), 'The Party' (Peter Sellers/Claudine Longet) and 'Indiscreet' (Cary Grant/Ingrid Bergman). I'd also recommend "The Quiet Man" (John Wayne/Maureen O'Hara).

The only thing I really liked about Love Actually was Will Self's review of it..
"Love Actually is like the death of Diana - it enables the lowest common denominator of collective hysteria to get going."

not only is Annie Hall the best romantic comedy of all time, it's actually one of the best films of all time, period.
Tootsie is great as well.

I'm sorry but modern "films" make me, for lack of a better phrase, want to increase the number of Rosaries I pray for this generation's morals and for Hollywood, or rather, the only city on the West that Sandy seemed to have destroyed. Some 10 years ago.

I'm not a massive fan of romcoms but Bridget Jones and Notting Hill aren't too bad.
The only thing I really liked about Love Actually was Will Self's review of it..
"Love Actually is like the death of Diana - it enables the lowest common denominator of collective hysteria to get going."
Aw, c'mon. Isn't it beautifully smalzy and ridiculously sweet? I found it to be quite touching, not in spite of its obvious intent and direction but because of it. It's so unabashedly sentimental and emotional.
Btw, did anybody already mention THE HOLYDAY? I loved that one, too. And SLIDING DOORS.
