I am in need of some good Romantic Comedies, What are some of your favorites? Not twilight though.. don't say that as a suggestion.
Of course since I am such a Daniel Craig, I am ordering Casino Royale for my dorm because of Daniel Craig ;)

While not being a girl I still give my tuppence. HARRY & SALLY is one of my favourites in that genre. LOVE ACTUALLY is another, also fitting for the holiday season and by now probably a modern classic of Crimbo films. ABOUT A BOY is an entry not so much focused on a love affair as on relationships in general. 500 DAYS OF SUMMER is not strictly speaking a 'comedy' but a most entertaining and touching drama nonetheless. AMERICAN GRAFFITI is a kind of young adult collage, involving naturally love and romance too, so you could do worse than seeing this. If you do take care to not pick it up on a TV station where they cut the end-credits because those are what gives the film its scope and gravitas. You probably know BREAKFAST AT TIFFANYS but most people haven't read the novella which has an entirely different feel to it. Stopping by Audrey Hepburn one has to mention CHARADE, which is also a romantic comedy of sorts, intertwined with the splendid thriller it is too.

Man and women certainly have different opinions about the quality of romantic comedies. But as, AFAIK, there aren't that many girls around here, some male opinions will have to make do.

Frankly, I don't care very much for romantic comedies, but if it has to be, I'd suggest a few classics: 'Bringing up Baby' (Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn), 'The Party' (Peter Sellers/Claudine Longet) and 'Indiscreet' (Cary Grant/Ingrid Bergman). I'd also recommend "The Quiet Man" (John Wayne/Maureen O'Hara).

I own 500 days of summer already and I really love it a lot! Harry met Sally is pretty good I completely forgot about that one.

The ones that aren't romantic comedies. Except for ANNIE HALL. ANNIE HALL is good. And IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT. The rest can be given to neo-Nazis for book burning.

I've always had a soft spot for Housesiiter. How can you not love a movie with the moral that life would be better if we all just kept lying to each other (and ourselves)?

I'm not a massive fan of romcoms but Bridget Jones and Notting Hill aren't too bad. ;)

The only thing I really liked about Love Actually was Will Self's review of it..

"Love Actually is like the death of Diana - it enables the lowest common denominator of collective hysteria to get going."

As mentioned...Annie Hall; which was pretty much remade as When Harry Met Sally;
not only is Annie Hall the best romantic comedy of all time, it's actually one of the best films of all time, period.
Tootsie is great as well.

Let me rephrase what I said the other day: TODAY'S "romantic comedies" can be given to neo-Nazis for book burning. Also check out INDISCREET, CASABLANCA and all the old ones. Yeah, the ones with actual romance, no sex, and couples being actual couples instead of acting like f*** buddies.

I'm sorry but modern "films" make me, for lack of a better phrase, want to increase the number of Rosaries I pray for this generation's morals and for Hollywood, or rather, the only city on the West that Sandy seemed to have destroyed. Some 10 years ago.

Aw, c'mon. Isn't it beautifully smalzy and ridiculously sweet? I found it to be quite touching, not in spite of its obvious intent and direction but because of it. It's so unabashedly sentimental and emotional.

Btw, did anybody already mention THE HOLYDAY? I loved that one, too. And SLIDING DOORS.

I'm not a fan of the romantic comedy genre... The only one I really enjoyed, off the top of my head, is Bridget Jones. I'll try to think of others.

I love 500 Days of Summer. I'm not too crazy about P.S. I Love You, but it holds some sentimental nostalgic value with me as it was the movie I saw on my first "real" date, during which I accidentally poured my popcorn all over my then girlfriend. I also watched Sleepless in Seattle many times in my childhood and I remember enjoying it a fair bit.
