Yes, I know, Skyfall hasn't had it's first week yet but why not? After hearing the rumors of John Logan penning a back-to-back Bond 24-25, I thought it would be interesting to hear what people thought of they were in John Logan's shoes...

How would you open Bond 24?

In my opinion, I was thinking in nearly every Bond so far we've seen Bond go to a fashionable party in a nice tuxedo with a vodka martini, why not have a party right at the start and have a big action scene across a glamorous casino or hotel? and if we really wanna go back to Quantum have the party be Guy Haines'

I'd almost like the pre-title sequence to be either during on the end of a previous mission we know nothing about, finding Bond in a tough situation and he gets out, ready to head back to London. Classic Bond.

'CR', 'QOS' and 'SF' all have had pretty hard pre-titles, serious and very connected to the main stroy. As we have our James Bond back, I'd love to see him in that situation for a great mini-adventure before the main film starts.

Like we had in 'Goldfinger', 'Moonraker' or 'The Living Daylights' - most of them can be connected to the main story, but take the little connecting item away, they're are blistering action pieces and can be seen as a mini-mission for introducing us to another round wih 007.

Craig had fun during 'Skyfall', and I want to see his Bond have more fun doing his missions he is so good at.

It would never happen but it would be great if they used Gardner novels and created a short mini-adventure for a pre-title sequence.

What about putting the "pre-title"-sequence at the end just like the gunbarrel? :D

Bond opens the folder marked 'Top Secret' handed to him by Mallory. It contains the results of the interrogation of Silva's surviving henchman, whose revealed that not only did Silva have a list of NATO agents embedded in terrorist organisations, but that he also had a list of double-agents embedded in various secret service organisations across the globe. Bond scans the list, and his heart misses a beat as he sees one unmistakable name on the list..........F Leiter......

Nifty idea. Lots of possible ways to develop that plot. Just as long as Felix doesn't wind up in Gitmo.

I think they should have a clean slate for Bond 24 - new mission, no connection to Skyfall apart from the new cast (Fiennes, Harris, Whishaw) and no connection Casino Royale or Quantum of Solace, maybe Quantum but that should be it

Actually TLD PTS does have something to do with the main story because of the smiert spionam tag that was left on the body of the 00.

I generally agree, except I'd like to see Felix return.

I suggested this idea back a while ago, my suggestion is that a future Bond film should start off by showing us a montage of Bond's off-duty routine, with Bond visiting casinos, interacting with various women, perhaps toying around with his car, etc. It could then climax with Bond taking a girl back to his place, only for an assassination attempt on his life to occur, putting both him and the girl in harm's way. At this point, you could cue up the usual action set-piece, or go for a more muted sort of pre-title sequence (ala YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE).

And then, as an added bonus, after the credits, we can find out that the girl is actually the daughter of the Minister of Defence or some other high-profile political figure, and M can scold Bond for being so careless in his romantic liasons.

I'd love to see a return of the mini-adventure that has no connection to the plot whatsoever. I believe the last time this has happened was in Octopussy. Just Bond in a 5 minute mission which he succeeds and gets the girl. Something like the game Bloodstone's pre titles sequence.

I'd like to see a pre-title sequence a la TSWLM. One big connection to the main story with a giant action set piece and some unintentional innuendo from M.

I think we should bring Jesper Christensen back for Bond 24 and have him in the pre-title sequence. Maybe like a Diamonds are Forever pre-title sequence but better...

I'd like to see a mission unrelated to the plot of Bond 24.

One way to top Skyfall- and fans will be hoping they do- is to have the most elaborate opening sequence yet for # 24
Can be seperate or connected to the main plot but maybe throw the kitchen sink in there this time

By the way when is someone going to do a book that takes a look, specifically, at the opening sequences?
There is enough material there ( behind the scenes, pictures, the long history of....) to fill a nice thick book

Doesn't have to be in the pre-title sequence necessarily, but I'd really like a classic briefing.
Spoiler

It begins with the tail-end of Skyfall, the walk, turn and blast of the Walther PPK. The final re-alignment of the factors which were originals.

I'd love to see them do that. If Bond 24 and Bond 25 aren't like Specter in TB and YOLT then I would at least like to see them do that and give some closer to the Quantum story line.

Thank you, MattofSteel. The idea of Bond 24 taking a really, really hard look at the interaction of various Secret Services across the globe fascinates me. I'd love to see a real cliff-hanger regarding 'The Special Relationship' which on the grandscale is the UK's with the US, on a 'business level' MI6 with the CIA and of course on a personal level is Bond's with Leiter. That must have mileage......
