Daniel Craig's impact on new fans

Daniel Craig is slowly securing his place as the best Bond of all time. His Bond movies seem to carry themselves in a way that the others have not.
I can't help but think that the young movie goers of today who are coming of age with Daniel Craig and what they will think of the previous Bonds and the franchise as a whole when they discover it. Will Connery be the "old guy", the "boring guy"? Will they appreciate Moore's take at all or will he be an embarrassment? Where will the opinions settle on Brosnan?

I didn't know at the time if I could enjoy anyone else in the role after Brosnan, but Craig could ultimately surpass him as my favorite Bond at this point.
I think it really depends on the individual and how open they are to change.

As Brosnan was/is for those of the 90s...Moore of the 70s and Connery of the 60s and only someone who really shakes the character up to new heights could top anyone previous, so I am sure it's hard to pinpoint Craig's impact but he's certainly saved the franchise, breathed new life into the character and stories and also brought in a whole new generation of fans, male and female, young and old thanks to his portrayal and real-world connection.

Let this be a lesson to anyone who continues to cling to 'their' Bond, the Bond of their time. Let him go. Let him go and open your mind and heart to all the others. Learn to see them for what they are.
Let your Bond go. If it indeed is true love, he'll fly back to you.

I have let the double-taking pigeon go, but alas, he has not returned to me.......!!!!

Well, he's a double-taking bird, so I guess you have to do some double-letting-go in order for it to work.I have let the double-taking pigeon go, but alas, he has not returned to me.......!!!!

Interesting question. Let's just say that if I met someone who had only seen CASINO ROYALE, QUANTUM OF SOLACE and SKYFALL, I wouldn't be recommending they watch OCTOPUSSY or DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER as their next outing. I think I'd have to wean them onto the lighter efforts...
The solution - DAD! From the sublime (well, the solid) to the ridiculous!!!

Sorry if I'm late to post on this thread. Came across it just now. Its an interesting question. So far I'm yet to come across anyone for whom James Bond IS Daniel Craig, among people I know. Even those I've met who are growing up in the Craig era, James Bond IS Pierce Brosnan. Its too early to say. Lets see how things turn out by the time the Craig era is over. It'll be interesting to see Craig's legacy, and I hope to encounter people who identify Bond with Daniel Craig.

Gosh, so far many people I know refer to Craig as the ultimate James Bond. For them, he seems to be the total package. Others I know who prefer Brosnan are women who consider him the handsomest of all the Bonds.

I was introduced to Bond 50 years ago as a kid and I'm still as big a fan as ever. I hope the Craig fans enjoy the same long run as new actors continue to take the torch. Though the face changes for each generation Bond is still Bond.
