Where I first encountered Daniel Craig, when he starred in the 90s TV show 'The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles' in the episode 'Daredevils Of The Desert' in 1993 as German officer Schiller.

I loved this series, I have them all on DVD!

I haven't seen that episode of Young Indy but now I definitely have to since Daniel is in it!


And I love Cowboys & Aliens - that is a fun movie to watch, was great to see Daniel in a Western I think that genre suits him well.

I love the first shot of him in Cowboys & Aliens. I mean I think the story line itself was a fail, but Daniel Craig certainly looked nice

Thanks, it does look like it's from TGWTDT. If it is it is nice to see the cast having fun on set despite the film being so dark.

I love this eyes too, so very blue And he seems to have a great sense of humour, he loves that fan in that picture, ha!

I honestly thought we would be. When Craig was first mentioned for the role, I was with everyone else in being skeptical, as the picture that was included in the article that first linked him to the role of Bond was possibly the worst picture they could have come up with (probably intentionally done that way, looking back on it) in terms of making him seem even remotely right for the part. I went out that weekend and got a copy of one of his films and knew immediately from that point that he'd be an excellent Bond.

I'm just glad that Sony had the guts to allow EON to hire him, considering it would have been a much safer move for them to simply demand Brosnan back since they no doubt wanted a surefire hit with their first Bond film, and Brosnan no doubt would have delivered them a great box office haul guaranteed. I think the move has paid off for Sony, though, with Craig delivering two of the best films in the series (yes, I rank QOS that highly) and appears to have another winner on his hands with SKYFALL.

One point, though, in looking at this page of the thread. The only issue I've had with Craig's films is that Craig always seems to look more Bondian when he's not playing Bond than when he does. It's mainly the hair. Take the hairstyle from that COWBOYS & ALIENS picture or the black and white shot of him in the trench coat, and you've got something closer to what Bond should look like than what we've seen from the stills for SKYFALL.

I agree about the hair tdalton, picky as people may think, I like Craig with a bit of length, as you say, the B&W tenchcoat pic is a good style. He nearly had it with 'Casino Royle', almost in 'Quantum Of Solace' but lost it in 'Skyfall' - it makes Bond seem more of that former SAS type rather than Ox-bridge bred for espionage.

I wouldn't mind a bit of the style he had in Munich showing through in a future Bond film.

I think when I found out that the shower scene with Vesper in Casino Royale was originally written for her to be in her underwear and Daniel Craig rewrote it so she was fully clothed, that's when I knew we'd all hit the jackpot with an actor that truly understood what makes Bond tick. I can't stand the thought of him ever leaving the role.

I am frustrated and baffled by all of the Craig dissenters complaining that Craig isn't suave and that Pierce Brosnan beats him in that regard.



Daniel Craig is one of the sauvest, most elegant-looking actors today while also remaining thoroughly modern and utterly dangerous. Pierce Brosnan in all of his films save GE, looks like someone's Dad.

It truly is frustrating that some folks Just Don't Get It, no matter what Daniel Craig does as Bond, but seeing that Skyfall is shattering box office records left and right, hand in hand with critical acclaim, well... I think us Daniel Craig fans will be able to sleep well at night.

I don't think the confusion is over who is suave and who isn't. People just have differing opinions on what “suave” actually is.

Some people believe suave involves making a scrunched up pucker face while exhaling heavily through the nostrils. I say, let them have it their way.

An excellent example! Some people would find that to be a key ingredient in the making of a suave cocktail. You and I, on the other hand, believe "suave" actually involves a degree of control and restraint, so please leave your flesh… in.
