Get this, she says: "He [IF] would have perhaps turned his nose up at some of the continuation novels that have come out."
Who shoulders the blame for that? The reporter even asks her if in retrospect she wishes she hadn't commissioned some of the continuation books.
LF also wants to see a period version of CR.

What's the most memorable letter you've had from fans?
My cousin is actually writing a book with some of the interesting and funny letters in them and Ian's responses, which will be coming out quite soon. There's a very interesting one we found recently - Top Gear are doing a programme on it. It's about why Bond originally drove a Blower Bentley, then changed to an Aston Martin, which is described in the books as a "pool car". But we've found a letter from a reader which gives a hint of why. But I don't want to take Top Gear's thunder away!

On the continuations, well, evidently their quality is not always what it could have been. But like most mistakes at the time the people involved obviously thought it was a good idea. Hindsight sadly always comes that bit too late. Sure, less quantity would hopefully lead to higher quality, or so common sense would suggest. But look what happened since that recipe was applied to the adult continuations...

Wow that's pretty cool being the uncle of the man who wrote the James Bond novels. Interesting interview though.
You mean niece?
