The very first press screenings for 'Skyfall' will be held this Friday. So expect a good few reviews. Fingers crossed they're positive!

Unless, like a few films these days, they're embargoed until a certain date.

There will always be some kind of leak, even with an embargo. And there will be an embargo.

Wonder where my invite is...

I imagine there will be an embargo on reviews, but still interested to see if any details leak out nonetheless.

I expect we'll get tweets like "I can't give any details but that [was one of the best Bond films I've seen]/[I was slightly disappointed], expect my review on the [whatever date]"

Its best not to base your judgement on critics ,There are many movies that have gotten poor review but they are actually quite good, look at "Taken 1" for example, amazing movie! but critics bash it alot

Not as much as Taken 2... :-)
And therefore I must admit I really don't know if I'll see it...

Usually there is no embargo with Bond press screenings. In fact, there is usually a bit of a rush with critics to have the world’s first review. But of course, things might be different this time. As usual for Bond, this is very close to the release, much closer than a normal movie. I cannot envisage them insisting on an embargo, unless they’ve promised a first review to say Empire or whoever and there is 24 hours for them to get that out.

All the same, I’m expecting reviews by the weekend – possibly late Friday.

Just got word this morning from a good friend of mine, who shall we say is VERY closely involved in the production (sorry, no names!!)

His exact words.."Skyfall is complete. We just screened the final version and it's ready for the world.
And by the way, it is AWESOME!"

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, prepare for total Bond-bliss!! :)

Expect 'Thumbs Up' reviews - it's only the fans who nit-pick movies to death.

I guess it's almost time for me to retire temporarily from the forums, to avoid any more over-exposure before game day.

I have to wait exactly 4 weeks, from today. This is going to be torture.

(Scrambles for something to placate/distract): Uh...ask him if there's lots of Bond theme woven throughout the score!

I can guarantee this movie will get very good reviews. There's one reason: it will be a very good movie. They've had 4 years to work on it. It's directed by Sam Mendes. Javier Bardem is the villain. Also, the producers just renewed Daniel Craig for 2 more movies. They wouldn't do that unless they were really happy with this one. It's as easy to predict as the advanced positive CR reviews.

Empire writer Chris Hewitt tweeted that "today is Skyfall Day...no Skyfall embargo that I'm aware of. Kim Newman is writing the review I believe"

Not long till the reviews start pouring in then. I particularly look forward to Empire's review.

If that's true about no embargo (let's hope so!) then that might be a sign of how confident they are about the film's reception. Crap films don't even get shown to the critics, so hopefully letting them talk about one weeks early is a sign that this one is the opposite of crap!

Apparently the Empire team are out for Bond karaoke after the screening!

Some bloke says there's a warning email 'not to spoil the ending for others'. Surprise ending ahoy!

Very exciting to hear the first words possibly this weekend on how it shapes up. Just think, somewhere in the UK there will be finished versions of 'Skyfall' playing... how amazing, it's so close now!

I hope EMPIRE give it the 5 Stars...'Casino Royale' and 'Quantum Of Solace' both peaked at 4. I know, bit worrying to think 'QOS' matched 'CR' for star ratings, but never mind.

Lucky sods out there in the press world...!

To this day Empire have only ever given Goldfinger 5 stars...and i think that has a lot to do with the fact it is now seen as a 'classic Bond' film. Great imagery, villain etc.

But if there was ever another Bond films to get 5 stars, Skyfall is it! Surely!

(P.S. TCR, like my sig? haha!)

The screening isn't until tonight, I believe. I wouldn't expect anything before nine or ten pm tonight, probably (it's 1.30pm in the UK now).

Thats kind of the reason I mentioned taken1 , Taken 2 has nothing more to add, obviously just a way for studio Execs to make quick cash ..with a meager budget as 45mil $...The worst part is that it worked :(
