It's showing first on Sunday 14th October at 7pm.
I can't wait to see this - I've only read about this over the last few years, so can't wait to see the real first screen adaptation of James Bond, ingoring the fact he will be American.

Supposedly Peter Lorre's LeChiffre does this, but I've seen the ending, and it doesn't happen. An urban myth, I'm afraid. Is this the version where a dead man walks, thinking the camera was no longer on him?

But anyway.... why the hell does everyone lean on that 'Card Sense Jimmy Bond' thing? I mean, he's called that ONCE. He's just 'James Bond' for the rest of the movie, as well as the credits.

Seems the (lost?) episode aired two weeks earlier featured this blooper and got confused with CR.

'Cardsense' Jimmy Bond is only mentioned once, and from then it's James Bond, or Mister Bond, all very classic.
A bit slow towards the end, but a decent little Bond ditty that introuced the US audiences to the CIA Agent James Bond and his British Intelligence friend Letter.
....hang on a minute....
...never mind, anyway - it's not 007, but it's a decent little film noir-eque adptation for TV. The ending is a bit sudden and lacks a decent title song, but it as the 50s.
Oh, there's no gunbarrel or pre-titles...
.... hang on a minute... never mind.

I saw this on sky the other week, and it ended earlier then my VHS version which is in the loft somewhere......
My VHS version ends where they are making a telephone call to the police, is this the complete version or not please?

"Call the police" is NOT the ending.
The full version has Le Chiffre grabbing Valerie and threatening to kill her with a razor blade if Bond doesn't let him go...
There are a few strange edits in the video, but it's on YouTube:

I've got the Spyguise VHS with the original ending (though you can tell the ending is from a different, lesser quality source), and the old Casino Royale '67 DVD which has it as a bonus feature albeit without the ending. Not a bad effort I must say for the first James Bond adaptation. I really enjoy it.
Some of the dialogue could have been in later Bond films:
"Aren't you the fellow who was shot?"
"No, I'm the fellow who was missed."

Thanks very much, it is strange how the memory plays tricks, as i could have sworn the VHS version i bought back in 1996 ended where you actually saw them with a telephone calling the police, next time i am up in the loft I will have to dig it out, take my video recorder out of moffballs and play it again!

Le Chiffre reminds me of Tim Healy from Auf Wiedersehen Pet.
