But now those problem members have been banned, and the forums seem to be re-rallying (a new film coming out helps alot of course). While some of the regulars have gone MIA, quite a few have stuck around, doing their thing. There also seems to be alot of new blood about, or at least people I hadn't noticed before.
The main page is now regularly ticking over again too, with constant key Skyfall updates, other Bond news and bits of business (love the montly "Worth another shot" idea, a streamlined version of the old CBn dossier), and even some new feature articles under the new "Finest Details" banner. Jim's 007th minute series, which is absolutely nailing the virtures (and flaws, but mostly virtues) of each film, is, I think, some of the best stuff he's ever written here, and zencat is, as always, across of any new book info. It's different from the old days of say 2002-09 (not quite as slick now, but somehow more all-inclusive. I'm liking it), but, hey, things change, and change is okay. It's all looking pretty good.
Enjoying the resurgence of the last few months. This place is feeling like the one stop shop for all things Bond again. Find myself coming here everyday, not just out of habit, but because I'm enjoying it. Great work everyone!

People - well, for the most part Jim and Bryce003 actually - have been working hard to keep the ship on course during the last two, three years. Now CBn has been relaunched and we are already very proud of the result. But we are constantly working on our development and try to provide further quality content for our readers. Without whom this evolvement wouldn't have been possible in the first place. So we have to thank YOU for news submissions, interviews, reviews, fan creations and quality discussion on the boards, all of which contributes to the overall quality of this place.

In any event, thanks for the kind words. Hopefully I can live up to Jim as far as moderators go...I haven't had to get snippy with anyone yet though

Is there any way for us to compile forum stats (e.g., aggregate posting trends in time, location, etc.)? The ebb and flow would be interesting from an analytic perspective.

Not sure what was going on in the background, or why other captains of CBn have disappeared, but you're still there.

However that was then, this is now and a new era has begun!
I'll echo the many others how ship-shape this site now is, dozens of news articles and features on the main site which is far more than what is was and the forum is blazing with passionate fans, new and old members, joining in to celebrate the 50th anniversary and 'Skyfall', but also celebrate each other and what we all bring to the forum and the fun we have.
It was like the boards and site about a year or so ago hit it's 'Die Another Day', but recently it's felt like 'Casino Royale' 2006 with a fresh look, re-booted site and major passion injected to the forums!
Lng may it continue as the best Bond site around!

Maturity is few and far between across the web, with forums usually receiving the brunt of the damage. However, I can say, though I have blundered a posts a time or two (usually out of excitement), I've never felt ostracized or belittled in any way. The sheer quality of the entire CBn site and its members are what keeps me coming back. Here, there is a wealth of knowledge all things Bond and being a fellow 'Bondian' myself, I'm can say it has been nothing other than a pleasure.
Cheers to all involved indeed!

I think it's time that the new mods were presented with their own CBn banners.

Thanks! It looks great.

I remember post-QOS, the digital tumbleweed was rolling around here. I stayed away, since the main page was never updated.
Worst still, the forums were in the vice-grip of the 'Captain Tightpants' forum member/dictator. But once we sorted the wheat from the chaff and sent certain people packing, the forum was filled with, as the late Rene Mathis would have put it ,"Lovely people".
Skyfall has re-juventated these parts, and it's a pleasure to banter with you lot! Keep up the good work!

I am very greatful for all the hard work that's been done on the main page lately. I've been cautiously dipping my toes back in the forums, not sure of what might be lurking beneath the waters, but it seems much better now. I have such great memories of wonderful contributions from members like zencat, Dlibrasnow, Bryce and many others and while I don't these people personally, I really admire their passion for Bond and their respect for other forum members, even when I voiced my contrary opinions.
There have been so many great Bond sites that have come and gone throughout the years, I remember when Kimberly Last used to update her page daily with Bond news, then 007news came along (which was my go-to for Bond news) with an onslaught of others. Cbn was just another Bond site, but I found myself coming back regularly to see what folks were saying here, and the other sites slowly faded away but this one kept it up.
I'm happy to see it back, and I hope the respect and good will continues.
