What´s the longest Bond? OHMSS?

Well, in times of TDKR one could expect Sony to give "SKYFALL" at least a 2 hour 30 minutes chance...

There is a whisper (from a more credible source) that as of mid August, Skyfall was 2 hours 30ish.

Yes i remember hearing that. With trailers and adverts we'll be sitting in the cinema for nearly 3 hours anyway. I always thought Thunderball was the longest, but i think that's just the over-long and tedious underwater scenes that make me feel like it's a 4 hour film....

If the PTS indeed is very longish (30 minutes?) then the rest of the film could/should be appropriately longer, so... 2.30 h feels right.

And an epic Bond after the long hiatus and for the anniversary would be exactly what us fans deserve, right? Who knows how long we´ll have to wait for our next Bond fix?

I think the 30-minute PTS is rubbish. I’d say 10 to 12 minutes, but that’s just an educated guess.

Then, once the theme music and the title sequence are over, we’d be into the main body of the film for about 2 hours and 15, which I would be very pleased with.

I agree Shrublands, if we get a good 15-20 minute action packed, narrative fuelled pre-title sequence and a cracking opening title sequence, that will be a fantastic main film run time.

'Casino Royale' is the current longest runtime at 144minutes, so take away the 7-ish minutes of pre-titles and music, that's 2 hours 16 minutes of film and people say the last 20 minutes of that is very drawn out.

So if 'Skyfall' can deliver what it's been teasing and promising us, with a good opening sequence and well structed story, the long run time shouldn't be a problem at all!

If you cut out the end credits, then OHMSS has the longest running time. It's 142 minutes, and the end credits are only half a minute. In CR the end credits take about 5 minutes.

Simon Thompson ‏@ShowbizSimon
Very positive #Skyfall test screening. "Best looking Bond film ever" with "most emotionally draining & action packed end of any Bond film."

The Incredible Suit ‏@IncredibleSuit
Apparently there's been a test screening of a THREE HOUR cut of Skyfall in London. Refusing to read reactions. REFUSING I TELL YOU.
Another movie blog

Three hour Bond... Oh, how I would love that...

I wouldn't. For all but a tiny minority of films, three hours is far too long a running time. No Bond film needs to clock in at much more than two.

I wonder, is this perhaps about to become THE LORD OF THE BONDS?

Yeah. But the actual play time (without the end credits) of OHMSS is longer.

So if you start both movies simultaniously Tracy will still be alive in OHMSS while in CR the end credits role already.

Um, does anybody have a list with the running times of every James Bond film?

It's not exactly shocking they held a test screening this early. I remember a few months ago back in early June this guy was going around a few forums saying he'd seen The Dark Knight Rises at a test screening (where not all the effects for The Bat were finished yet) and PMed a few people several details about the final 2 minute montage of which no one would've known about because only key actors saw it before hand in script form and he turned out legit. It's just whether this guy is telling the truth or not that's the problem, as has been stated. Some of it sound a little iffy based on the way he wrote it, but there could be a few factors. Maybe he's lying, maybe he doesn't remember everything about the scene or the dialogue word for word, or maybe he just sucks at describing things. Who knows. Guess we'll find out soon enough if any more brave souls come forward, or by the time the movie is released.

Skyfall’s music editor Tony Lewis has Tweeted that the IMDB review is 100% fake.

Update: When asked further about this, he says “No shred of truth in any of her post,” as far as he can see. That was in response to a direct question about the use of the OHMSS music as a stand-in for preview screenings.

Ho-hum....

Speaking of "Ho's" this mysterious IMDB "first time" poster (both this latest film review AND the trailer bit - yes, one in the same - check the writing style on both) seems to have forgotten about covering one's tracks as well as writing style. Pesky thing IP numbers when a Bond fan with moderate computer skills tastes blood in the water.

My condolances...Getting sold out from the inside out is the funny part....Sad really...

Good sleuthing folks. Can a kind soul perhaps now change the thread title to reflect the bogus nature of this non-review?

Good call. Done.

Golden Rule: IMDb is not a source.
(Why do I always have to post this a few weeks before a Bond premiere...?)
