On the Odeon website in the UK, there is an advance screening listed for Thursday 25th October 2012 at 20.00 http://www.odeon.co....m13387/Skyfall/. It's a charity event and is being held in Scotland. Skyfall is released in the UK on 26th October 2012

Well that's pretty exciting - hope they bring it over Basingstoke way 'cos I'll be there for sure if they do! Thanks for the notification rteubler!

Just had a look and the seats are selling pretty good so far but christ - £22 a ticket?! I note it is a charity screening mind you...hmm. Still, can't say I wouldn't be interested!

The earliest screenings open to the general public are normally at the Odeon in Leicester Square. For CR and QoS the film was showing from the night of the premiere (first public showing 30 minutes after the premiere finishes) and then a full schedule on the Wednesday and Thursday before the nationwide opening on Friday.

However with the premiere being at the Albert Hall for SF it may be different this year. If there is an simultaneous overfill premiere at the Odeon, then I expect we'll be able to see SF from the Tuesday night onwards.

I'm expecting the first press screening to be around October 18th or 19th, and some will try to get their review out in a matter of hours. That's just five weeks... 5 weeks!!

Really looking forward to Mark Kermodes thoughts on Skyfall.

Is anyone else a bit scared? I can just see it now. Total Film - 2/5. I hope it doesn't happen. I'm honestly expecting solid 4 star reviews for this. But we need to prepared if this is bad. (Saying that though, everything I've seen with this film has been fabulous)

I can't say that I am. EON will invite some people to see the film, they'll all have opinions on it, and I'm sure some will like it and some won't. Bad reviews rarely do much damage to a film's overall haul at the box office, if the garbage we see week in and week out that do well is any indication.

Press screenings for CR and QoS were about ten or twelve days before the Premiere. My educated guess is Friday October 12th, in order to have the reviews in the weekend papers and create some buzz. 5 days are not enough for that, so October 18th or 19th would be too late.

You are quite right, the first press screenings were about 10 days before the premiere for the last two.
