Some years ago, CBn ran a couple of member surveys entitled "The Bond 50"; the first of general "Bond Moments" including the novels, and the second of the Villains.

Time's moved on, the first Bond 50 was prior to the release of Casino Royale, therefore time to run it again. The "50" thing seems more than a little coincidental.

Various forums updates mean that the threads and results are not that easy to find any more...

So...

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Eon series, we're running it again.

To take part, by Friday 21 September 2012, send a Private Message to CBn member "Jim" setting out

- Your top five Eon Bond film moments
- With an explanation (as short or as long as you like) why you've picked each one

Also - for a bit of a hoot - nominate your "worst" moment in the Eon Bond series.

Don't post them in this thread - let's make it a surprise!

By way of reminder, the Bond 50 moments (of any type) back in the summer of 2006 were:-

50 Sliding on ice, machine gun blazing - On Her Majesty's Secret Service
49 SPECTRE's Predator Rocket first appears - You Only Live Twice
48 Baron Samedi sits on the train - Live and Let Die
47 Bond drops Sandor - The Spy Who Loved Me
46 Beach fight - On Her Majesty's Secret Service
45 Death of Dr Tynan - Diamonds are Forever
44 Bond drops in - a real man - The Living Daylights
43 Magda drops out - Octopussy
42 Grant introduced - From Russia with Love (novel)
41 Bond introduces himself to Xenia - GoldenEye
40 Lupe at knifepoint - Licence to Kill
39 Dr Kaufmann - Tomorrow Never Dies
38 Bond proposes - On Her Majesty's Secret Service
37 Spiral stunt - The Man with the Golden Gun
36 Space Station reveal - Moonraker
35 Fatima Blush goes bang - Never Say Never Again
34 Tracy overtakes, Bond pursues - On Her Majesty's Secret Service
33 Death of Rosie - Live and Let Die
32 Pushkin at gunpoint - The Living Daylights
31 Bond cheats Drax - Moonraker (novel)
30 Bomb countdown - Octopussy
29 Bedhopping with Goodnight and Andea - The Man with the Golden Gun
28 Bond emerges from the water - Goldfinger
27 Bond enters the bar, things blow up - Goldfinger
26 The final line - Casino Royale (novel)
25 Bond escapes Wavekrest - Licence to Kill
24 Suppose I were to kill you for a thrill? - On Her Majesty's Secret Service
23 Bond checks in - Die Another Day
22 Bond kills Professor Dent - Dr No
21 Tanker chase - Licence to Kill
20 Golden Girl - Goldfinger
19 Tracy persists in rescuing Bond - On Her Majesty's Secret Service
18 Such good sport - Moonraker
17 004 falls off the Rock; Bond turns - The Living Daylights
16 Bond bungees off the dam - GoldenEye
15 Net fight with Necros - The Living Daylights
14 The first introduction - Dr No
13 Bond in freefall - Moonraker
12 Le Chiffre tortures Bond - Casino Royale (novel)
11 A water pistol? - The Man with the Golden Gun
10 Death of Tracy - On Her Majesty's Secret Service
09 Bond kills Locque - For Your Eyes Only
08 Train fight - From Russia with Love
07 Lotus takes the plunge - The Spy Who Loved Me
06 Laser table - Goldfinger
05 Honey's entrance - Dr No
04 Defection - The Living Daylights
03 Clay pigeons - Thunderball
02 Fiona and Bond in the bathroom - Thunderball
01 Bond skis off the mountain - The Spy Who Loved Me

Has the advent of the "reboot" and the Daniel Craig films since this survey changed these? Let's find out!

Of "some" interest, the film with the most "moments" is On Her Majesty's Secret Service, with The Living Daylights in second. From Russia with Love, You Only Live Twice, Diamonds are Forever, For Your Eyes Only, Tomorrow Never Dies and Die Another Day had one each. Neither A View to a Kill nor The World is not Enough appear to have "moments". Hmm!

Some very interesting ones today. Bond fandom - a broad church, shall we say?

Keep them coming!

Interesting ones over the past couple of days, especially on the "worst" moment. Whilst at these early stages there seems to be a popular (perhaps that should be unpopular) leading choice, there are a couple of slightly abstract - and slightly provocative? - ones in there. "Julian Glover's action slacks and blouson" was slightly unexpected.

Anyway, keep them coming. Have had twenty-four so far; plenty of time yet for more suggestions!

I'm just re-watching a number of the films to freshen up my memories and reconsider previous preferences. Actually yes, some of my favourites have changed with time.

You're not alone Dustin. There's a sticky note on my laptop about it that has subsequently been buried with research and self-notes. I think I'll have to review some of the clips tonight to make sure I got this right.
