I almost stuck this in my ten year thread, but then figured it could get lost.

Anyways, I talked about what was happening when I first registered. Basically it was around the time Bond 20 was gearing up for production. Press conferences, picture leaks. All that good stuff was happening.

So, whether it was ten years ago, five years ago, or maybe even last month...what interesting things were happening in the world of James Bond when you registered with us here at CBN.net?

Eagerly awaiting Casino Royale, and Daniel Craigs portrayal as James Bond. Brilliant times. Amazing in fact.

Awaiting the latest servings unto us of the works of Messrs Benson and Brosnan (Tsunami Rising and Beyond the Ice respectively).

General Discussion tended to concentrate on the new-fangled abacus thing, what cave-painting people had seen that day and whether drowning or burning was the most effective way to rid one's village of witches.

Because I'm a refugee from another Bond forum that went through a major redesign, I don't have much of a history here (less than two years). I'd been on that board for several years, but had no interest in following them into their new format. That format change just happened to take place during the year-long hiatus the Bond franchise was on due to MGM' s financial troubles in late 2010.

Anyway, in answer to the original question, almost nothing was going on in the world of 007 when I joined the board.

I came before Quantum of Solace. It was exciting as I indulged myself in spoilers but after that it was very boring if I'm being honest, but the anticipation for Skyfall was worth it.

'98 or '99 - whatever the precursor was to this site as set up by Blue Eyes or some such.

So this would have been TWINE. By all accounts one could have drawn parallels with the aforementioned Cave Drawings...

31st October 2006 - a spooky night in the calendar, but one that I always tend to ignore and thought it was time to sign up to my first (and only) James Bond forum in the build up to 007's return in 'Casino Royale', instead of just looking at the news feeds on the main page.

It was a time when the whole franchise was on a cliff edge.

• The trailers look and sound like Bond but is it REALLY a Bond film?
• Will the franchise survive the departure of fan favourite Pierce Brosnan and last with the obscure choice of Daniel Craig?
• Will the 'Blond Bond' pull it off?
• The cinematic world has moved on quickly from 2002, and will a James Bond film fit in the current market anymore?

Rather glad I signed up now, as would have never thought 6 years later I'd still be more active than ever and we'd have this big 50th Year and 'Skyfall' due in a matter of months thanks to those events 6 years ago that smashed expectations around the world...!

Here's the the many more years to come and what it brings!

February 2008. I'd been a frequent visitor to the site since late 2007, but I finally registered on the forums in February 2008 as Quantum of Solace was in production.

I registered on Timothy Dalton's birthday (had no idea at the time) seven years ago and I believe they were still figuring out at the time if it was going to be Pierce Brosnan returning for a fifth film or if they were going to go in a different direction.
