'Resurrection' seemingly being a major theme, the idea that she may have been Monique Bond and faked her own death for the good of the service, abandoning Bond only to have him realize the truth later....
....except wait, Monique Bond was Swiss. Judi Dench does not see particularly Swiss.
The whole idea's kinda ridiculous. I don't think they'd go that far. What makes their relationship strong is that the maternal issues are surrogate by definition. What we know about the film's final act suggests that she finds herself alongside Bond as he confronts previously unseen and very private matters from his past - it's almost stronger because there's no personal relation or connection.
