Believe me, ANYTHING James Bond related is a welcome distraction for me what with the horrible Waldo Canyon fire nightmare that my hometown of Colorado Springs and the rest of the state (there are other wildfires burning in Colorado too) has been enduring for the last couple of weeks...Just so everyone knows, I'm fine and didn't have to evacuate even though the fire was coming dangerously close but stayed off to the west of me.. but I am close enough that I could see the flames and smoke plumes from my house, about 10 miles east and the smoke has blanketed the city a various times. The fire is now at 15% containment and God willing they should have it all contained by next week, is the last I heard..Sadly, the numbers from the Waldo Canyon fire total 347 homes lost, 16,750 acres burned, 32,000 people displaced, and sad to say at least on fatality discovered yesterday in one of the burned out homes. That was just from this fire.. The High Park fire which was buring up near Fort Collins, Colorado claimed a further 200 or so homes..fortunately I don't think there were fatalities from that, but this has just been a HORRIBLE year for drought and unseasonably hot temperatures for Colorado.. So, thoughts and prayers for everyone who has been displaced and/or has lost their home in this disaster would be MUCH appreciated..(oh and a few Rain dances or prayers for rain, would be also welcome).

I'm posting just one of many haunting photos which are online of the fire..just for your prospective..

Cheers CBN!

Jesus, you can have the rain we're expecting here in Southern Alberta.

Keep your chin up and your head down, Milos!

I've heard about the fires, of course, but your photo was truly scary. Glad you're ok. Please stay safe.

Hard to believe that one year ago, I was going throught the same situation..but I'm okay again..

Fortunately this year, the Black Forest Fire was not heading in my direction and I'm well north-east of where the Royal Gorge fire was. Sadly, the Black Forest fire surpassed last year's Waldo Canyon fire (347 homes destroyed in that one, and Black Forest is at 483 homes) to become the WORST EVER forest fire in state history.. Ugh..just another Colorado summer..

The good news...the fire is now 85% contained...the bad news is that the number of homes destroyed has grown to 503 homes and sadly two people lost their lives, the same number as last year...We've actually finally gotten some much needed rain and cooler weather in the afternoons so the end is in sight..but still quite an ordeal..

Milos, I'm bumping up this thread to find out how you're faring with the rain and flooding in your state. Are you affected?

You could have used some (though not all) of this rain in late June.

Is God trying to tell you something? Perhaps a move to a trailer park in Florida or Oklahoma is in the cards for you.

Keep well.
