Has any of you guys ever noticed that Eric Serra sampled a snippet of a John Barry Bond score in his music for Goldeneye? Full points if you know what and where.

The James Bond Theme.

Is it the 38 seconds of good buried amidst the 45 minutes of squeaky nothingness?

That would be the Goldfinger Gunbarrel.
It is used in the GoldenEye gunbarrel and the GoldenEye overture.

Exactly.
In the gunbarrel too, eh? Must relisten to that one as well then.

All I've got to work with is Audacity. I've been fiddling around with it but I can't hear Goldfinger's gun barrel at all. I did hear the guitar riff of the Bond theme being played by the drums after the gun shot, which I actually never noticed before.
Anyways, could you explain how to do this or post a clip on YouTube? I'm curious.

The pitch has been raised in the GE versions. Just lower it bit by bit until it is returned to normal. That's how I discovered it.

Not much of a discovery is it? It sounds just like the Goldfinger one. I thought we all noticed that when the film came out.

Got it, used the pitch changer in Audacity and lowered it to -15.0 or so. Not dead on but I didn't feel like tweaking it. Anyways, it was definitely recognizable. Can't believe I never noticed that before.

Hm, I still don't hear in the gunbarrel, while in the Goldeneye Ouverture, the sampling is obvious once you've sped it up by 36 % or so. (You actually have to make the pitch *higher* to hear what I mean.)
Incidentally, I discovered this a few years ago when I bought a 45 RPM single with Barry's 'Bond back in action again" from Goldfinger. Just for the fun of it, I played it at 33 RPM and immediately I recognized the music as heard in the Goldeneye Ouverture...

Is it just the fanfare phrase as in the gunbarrel that you're saying is in the Overture?
