I didn't miss it in 'Quantum', but will always hope it comes back at the right time.

He has "six of them" on the airplane in Quantum of Solace, actually.

Funny what people forget :P

Personally I felt that scene in Quantum with the bartender repeating that full recipe again was incredibly lame. Why couldn't he *just* have had one in his hand, people have eyes - a line of empty glasses, maybe a passing reference to them from Mathis - why did they feel they had to have Mathis ask for the recipe, or Bond to suddenly forget what's in his well-remembered, self-invented cocktail mix, just to have an awkwardly forced bartender list it all off again, depite already doing so (alot better) in Royale? Bond in the novel may have come up with the Vesper Martini, and having it in Royale was great, but why do they have to cling on to everything so much? Bond in the books ordered all kinds fo drinks, sometimes Martinis, sometimes rum, rye, bourbon, straight vodka, (from a chilled carafe of course!), Taittinger and Dom Perignon champagnes and even beer in at least one...

I feel they have a tendency to milk ideas, and that goes for general character and story ideas too. They have been milking the lack of full Bond theme use until the credits, they milked the gunbarrel twist in Quantum (just have it at the start!), they milked the extreme foot chases (how often in Connery films did he have lengthy chase sequences where he's trying to run another guy down for miles over rooftops and cranes and building sites etc?) It's looking like it's ended up some staple thing in all the Daniel Craig films for some reason, there looks to be a lengthy foot chase in this one, only this time across London and through the underground. I think Craig's Bond is being quite underused - of course he looks a tough, physical 007, but he's got that down, it doesn't need to be forced out in the film all the time by having him perform endless scenes of extreme physical exertion in pursuit of a suspect. Occsionally that would be great, but every damn film makes it seem like a lack of imagination. Craig's main strengths are his strong presence and acting ability, use them to create a powerful portrayal of the character. Having him smile a bit more often (and naturally) and have more lighter hearted conversations with friends (less rapid talking, scowling, stiffness, conversational chessplay and overselling the coolness. His best scenes, character-wise, have been those few with Solange, some with Vesper (the dinner scene is my favourite) and the bit in Quantum where he talks to.. erm, oh my.. the girl whose name I forget (always a good sign!) where he apologises to her for ruining her assassination attempt on General Whatshisface. But yea, great acting, complexity and strong likability of character - needs more of that and, as an extra, just more adventure, exploration, intrigue, quirky, memorable characters.. often the adventure and engrossing nature of a Bond film can be lost to excessive location hopping, action sequences and even just trying too hard to be clever - ie, references, hommages, nods and winks to previous classics make you feel more detached from the film of itself, from the adventure of the film, because it's pulling you out of the actual story and going 'Hey! Remember THIS is THAT old Bond film?? Clever eh!' rather than the hommage/respect paid to the series being simply making a really engrossing, well-written and richly characterful original film.

Casino Royale was a great start, Quantum lost it pretty badly, this one needs to really build on Craig's real strong points as Bond and of the classic feel they are going for. Go for the substance that the classic films had not just the suits, sets and well-known imagery.

Could you imagine the uproar if they announced Bond drinking Miller High Life, which he actually did in the Diamonds Are Forever novel?

Non story.
