The most celebrated ocean liner of its time even before it first sailed, Titanic was an incredible feat of engineering and ambition. Its maiden voyage ended in tragedy when it struck an iceberg and sank on April 15th 1912, killing more than 1,500 passengers and crew.

A simple dedication and mark of respect to all those who lost their lives, and who helped stage the rescue to passengers on that eventful night.

100 years on, still in our thoughts. Never forgotten.

If anyone has any links to family members or history with the Titanic, it'd be wonderful to hear your stories.

God bless.

Saw the Titanic Mystery Solved on HIstory Channel last night, & a good point was made about what went right w/the sinking. Most of the cruise ship sinkings we hear about the ship falters to 1 side, & fails to launch all lifeboats. Titanic did launch all lifeboats.

But I would love to see some what ifs. What if they went full reverse? What if the people in the Crow's Nest had binoculars (an officer who was replaced at the last minute had them)? Would a head on collision have been as or less fatal? There probably have been specials on this but I would be curious to get those questions answered.

If I had the $ I would build a replica of that ship & sail its original course. Still a great story, and a great lesson.
