thanks to Gt007 for the info from Mi6 community copy directly from there due to lack of link currently

Tonia Sotiropoulou announce that she has a role on Skyfall on Facebook

"Dear friends, I officially announce that I got a role in the next James Bond film. Turkey, here I come! Thank you all for your love and support. This is the happiest day of my life!"

talked to Tlife.gr about role in SF

When do you start filming?
- They started shooting the film in October. I have a small role, three scenes. I'm playing his lover. I start filming on April 22 and it will be for 5 days. It will be in Turkey.

- Could you tell us a bit more about your role?
(**SPOILERS**)
- I play James Bond's lover, who somehow helps him to escape when everyone thinks he's dead. It's a small part, two or three scenes, I'm not sure how long it will be.

- How are you feeling?
- It's the happiest day of my life so far! I feel very very lucky and blessed. I'm really grateful it happened. I'm grateful for my friends and family who believe in me and support my efforts. I'll do my best! I'm very proud because it's something that may promote Greece and that makes me happy. As far as I know, no other Greeks have been in a Bond film before.

(NOTE: she clearly has no idea about Telly Savalas or For Your Eyes Only...)

- How is Daniel Craig?
- He's very nice! He's funny, pleasant, kind, and very down-to-earth. Of course I don't know him well yet...

- Were there a lot of other girls auditioning for your role?
- Yes, there were many candidates. At first I auditioned for the main part in August, but I didn't get it. Bérénice Marlohe got it, a wonderful French actress. Then the casting director told me they liked me and they would inform me if they found a part I could get. So I auditioned on Friday and yesterday they called me, I went to the studio where they're filming, met the director, talked about the scene and he said I got the role

Plus the Turkey train sequence (and probably part of the London Underground sequence), from Jeffrey Caine's GoldenEye script, as well.

Yes. But that won't matter, as long as the end result is good.

Very interesting addition. Might explain how Bond ends up looking unshaven and out of shape - he presumably is keeping a low profile if everyone thinks he's dead (apart from MI6, etc).

Not many character names on the provisional cast list which she could fill; perhaps "Beautiful Woman"?

In the 'Bond 17' storyline, Bond's presumed to have been eaten by sharks.

It could be something like that, if the yacht scene comes after the bit with the train. The yacht could be sailing in shark or barracuda-infested waters, like Mr. Big's boat in Live and Let Die.

Barracudas...would be a nice nod to Fleming. I hope you´re right.

I'd be up for that. We'll just have to wait and see how far they went. Which I wouldn't mind, the ideas are good.

If all these former Bond ideas/plots are in use, it sounds like the intelligent nod to fans for the 50th that only fans would lap up, none of that in-your-face mash from 'Die Another Day'.

Almost like..."Spot The Recycled Bond Idea!"

Sounds great they could incorporate these elements into a film of course...!

I like the sound of that, either as a way into a deep cover op or following a blown mission. Maybe the latter. Maybe this film will question Bond's relevancy in today's world, how effective one man can truly be, and how Bond isn't simply a man. Could prove very interesting.

Another pic of her on this Daily Mail article: http://www.dailymail...-bond-girl.html

She's a stunner! Lucky Bond, getting to bed her.

She has an interesting look. It certainly sounds like she'll be involved in an action sequence. Perhaps the PTS?

Yeah, I think it must be the PTS.

It probably starts off with Silva breaking out of jail. Then cuts to Bond with Tonia Sotiropoulou's character, and ends with Bond being "killed". Possibly by falling to his death in some way. Which leads into the main titles.

Then, when the film begins proper, Bond is already thought to be dead and is in disguise (hence the stubbly fizzog in the earlier London scenes and the full beard in Shanghai).
