Davy Jones, the only British-born member of the 1960s band and television series, "THE MONKEES", died today of a heart attack in Florida. He was 66 years old. Here is an article on the entertainer:

Aw, that's really sad to hear. What a great entertainer. A sad loss for fans of 'The Monkees' and classic pop.

RIP Davy.

I always liked Daydream Believer and Rainy Jane, and I loved the way 'Phlem' grunged up Thank You Girl in the Brady Bunch Movie.

66, eh? Far to young to be taking the last train to Clarksville. Still, "if there's a rock&roll Heaven, you know they've got one hell of a band."

Take your spot, Mr. Jones.

Lordy, that's not very old, is it?

Dear oh dear. Another bit of a childhood clung to, erodes. RIP.

Indeed.

I am 46 this year, which based upon this maths, and a slight downer, means I have another 20 years.

Does make me wonder where the idea that 'middle aged at 55' comes from as on this calculation, I passed middle aged at 33!

Was sad to hear this news. The 1st episode of the Brady Bunch I saw was his guest star appearance on a Nick at Nite Marathon long ago, and watching the Monkees on old school Nickelodeon back in the day. Plus I always hummed 'Daydream Believer' when younger as its still one of my favorite songs. It's hard to believe Davy Jones is no longer with us physically, but he will live on through his music. My condolences to his family.

RIP

Before he was discovered for his musical talent he was working as a jockey in Newmarket. Two wicked jobs in one life!

Rest In Peace.

RIP.

2nd concert I ever saw was the Monkees Reunion Tour.

Anybody else a fan of their 1968 counter culture masterpiece "Head" ?

If I had all the time in the world, I'd write a "Making of" that film.
