Skyfall is to have a preview in the Febuary Issue of Empire in 2012, as well as this, additional 50th Anniversary plans have been revealed.

"The article also mentions the additional 50th anniversary activities going on next year. We already knew about the documentary and Bond in Motion car exhibition – but here there is also mention of a new video game and a cinema re-release for Dr No."

This better not be a limited re-release where it only happens in the UK.

Re-release in The UK or Nationwide, I'd love to see it on the big screen.

I hope it gets released in the US as well as the UK. I'm sure it will only be in small art house type theaters and not the big metro-plexes. Maybe they will release it with an exclusive look at Skyfall.

I hope they re-release Goldfinger as well - that's the only one I've never seen on a big screen.

If I was MGM not only would I re-release Dr. No, I'd release several of the other films as well and attach a new trailer for Skyfall on each one. A teaser on Dr. No followed by two longer theatrical trailers on the other releases. Goldfinger would be a likely choice as would The Spy Who Loved Me.

Probably won't happen but I'll at least keep my fingers crossed for Dr. No.

Hopefully they'll do something like this in the US, but I realize that's a longshot at best. If they were to do something in the US, though, I'd like to see them re-release one film from each of the actor's tenures in the role. I'd love to have the chance to see a Dalton film on the big screen.

Ok IF it will also be be release in would it be in the big chain movie theaters like Century and AMC or just in art house theaters. Where will it be for you in the UK. The big chain movie theaters you have there or the art house ones.

In the past in the UK it's tended to be fairly spread out with only a few theatres. But that was with the restored editions. This might be different with studio backing. I'm sure it will be a "blink and you'll miss it" deal.

I would love to see any Bond film re-released on the big screen. I was lucky to attend the James Bond Symposium at Hofstra University where I watched Goldfinger, Goldeneye, and License to Kill on their big screen. I got to watch LTK with Robert Davi in attendance. That was quite an experience! It was pretty cool to talk with him after the film and get my sideshow figures signed by him. Raymond Benson was in attendance as well, allowing me to get my first editions autographed. The Symposium was one of the greatest James Bond experiences of my life. Meeting Roger Moore and Lazenby within the same week wasnt too shabby either

#DISCLAIMER, I just got back from a Holiday party in the city and may be a lil intoxicated. Hope the above post is grammatically correct and coherent.

I think it is a wonderful idea and not such a crazy one... The Lion King, Star Wars, Titanic, even The Exorcist or The Godfather were or are going to be rereleased, so to put a 60´s movie on the big screen is a great romantic idea (and look what The Artist is going to do at the Oscar night!).

So, if someone at EON is reading this, please remember Spain!! I guarantee tickets sold!! :) :) :)

Wouldn't mind a Dr. No re-release, just hoping it comes to the US.

Will the re-release first contain the line, spoken by 007 to Quarrel:
Quarrel ! Fetch my shoes !
Ugh. It's awful. It was awful in the book, and awful in the movie and 1962, and awful now. And it was SO unecessary ! It's a superfluous line, not central to the plot or anything. Even if the visual part of the footage were unchanged, it should been removed from the audio back in '62.

What does a gripe about a debateably-racist-or-maybe-not single line of dialog in a 50 year old film have to do with a thread about a re-release in 2012?

If all non-integral lines to plot were removed, we'd have 23 10-minute films.

Why do people always go on about that ???

And to someone who said hope its not just a UK thing we hardly ever get re releases of the bond films here think where over due another one ;)

The simplest solution is to digitally replace Quarrel with an anthropomorphic dog. That would have the added benefit of making his death scene more heart-breaking.

My wife actually also has asked me to fetch her shoes from time to time.

I suspect she meant it in a friendly, "please do me a favor"-like way. Couldn´t our dear James have said it in a similar fashion to his beloved friend?

Somewhere in the canon Connery must have said the words "where" and "are."

A quick audio edit creates the question:

"Where are my shoes?"

And off goes Quarrel, because he can see them from where he's standing.

But do that and another camp will start bleating about revisionism...

And South Park will show a Connery-era Bond being raped atop a pinball machine.

Fetch.

verb (used with object)

1.
to go and bring back; return with; get: to go up a hill to fetcha pail of water.

Take, for example, this line of dialog from the movie Pride and Prejudice, spoken to the Caucasian character Denny:

"Denny, fetch me a glass of wine."

The Horror! The Horror! Think of the children!

It's a word. It means "to get or return with." Some people in the 1960s used it in sentences.

Has Bond a colonial attitude towards Quarrel?

Yeah, I admit he has. And Quarrel is depicted as a nice, not too bright brute, a servant, nothing more.

But does Bond actually treat Quarrel like a racist would?

Definitely not.

His "fetch my shoes"-line is just a request because they are on the run and have to hurry.

But if someone needs an excuse for exhibiting him/herself as politically correct...
