I was thinking about this last night, too. Would love a foot chase through snowy london. I guess it's too late for Skyfall now, though. Maybe for Bond 24!

Agreed. Craig's Bond definitely needs to visit some snowy locales. With the exception of the pre-titles in CR, Craig's Bond has spent his time almost exclusively in warm weather locales.

  • What about an aircraft-to-aircraft transfer? I don't mean like the "Fishing trip" in the PTS of LTK, but more like jumping from one doomed plane, about to crash to another one that is about to; gaining control of it & flying to safety, not unlike the beginning of Goldeneye?

Indeed. I'm sure the original idea for Quantum of Solace was going to have the climax set in the Alps. To reflect Bonds emotional state. Would've really liked to see that. I hope Craigs gets a few snowy locales in future. Would've liked to see Connery have some, too.

It was moved to the desert for the same reasons.

The problem with snowy locations - particularly snowy action scenes - is that it's really difficult to avoid repeating yourself. And after what Christopher Nolan filmed in INCEPTION, it would be a ahrd act for Bond to follow that straight away.

I'd really like to see a scene where Craig's Bond is rock climbing. More specifically, I'm talking about bouldering. I think it would fit nicely since they've done elements of Parkour in both Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. If you want to see what I'm talking about - check out Chris Sharma's bouldering videos on youtube. http://www.youtube.c.../17/DXW5u0qFDr8

chris sharma is the king of climbing. as i learned in college when i started rock climbing but mostly bouldering. one of my favorite climbs of his is, is in the "best of the west - chris sharma" youtube video featuring the "flamignon" problem rated v13

ive had a growing interest in "the waterman" since i read "the wave" by susan casey. i would love to see craig windsurf in a bond film but i'm pretty sure that will only happen in my imagination

kind of like how connerys bond did and never had any ski scenes or snowy locations. which always made me wish, i could see a connery version of OHMSS

...personal names, the personal pronoun "I", and the first letter of each sentence are always majuscules. Capitalisation not on the curriculum? Sorry Jim, MHarkin, couldn't resist. Many apologies, chaps.

And BAB? I think you may want to edit your sig. I'm not sure what "rentry" is, but I do know that at the end of Moonraker Bond attempts re-entry.

Just been watching 'Frozen Planet'. Fantastic series. I've got some ideas, actually. If we were to have a 'cold' Bond film again.

What about a chase through a frozen forest?

Posted Image

I can imagine an intense chase through the entire thing. Deadly, slippy, etc. Would look great on camera. Interesting location. Also, another interesting idea. There was a scene, I think from the first episode, where a group of Orcas were tipping over a block of ice in order to catch their prey, which was in this case, a seal. Now, imagine if Bond was dumped in the middle of a freezing cold water, on a block of ice in the Arctic. The villian sets a few killer whales on him, they spot him, try and overturn the ice he's on. Bond is hanging on for dear life, and he eventually gets capsised. There's nothing Bond can actually do, but just swim for it. NIce nod back to Live and Let Die, too.

I wouldn't mind seeing a chase through a frozen forest like that. Anything that brings in some colder locations would be a welcome addition to the Craig films.

That sounds a lot like something that happens in Matthew Reilly's Ice Station - one of the villains strings the hero up over a pool of water at the bottom of a research station in Antarctica, and tries to feed him to orcas. Other characters frequently get attacked by them, too. And there is a scene on an iceberg that has been calved (though no orcas are involved). Normally I'd say it wouldn't be a problem, but Ice Station was released three years before DIE ANOTHER DAY and contains a forty-page hovercraft chase sequence (that sounds excessive, but it's actually very well-paced). People might grow supicious if a second Bond film is released with similar content to the novel.

Wow...where's that location S K Y F A L L?

Could be a thrilling roof-top/in-car chase before it comes off the track or something?

I have no idea. I found it on Tumblr. Looks like wherever it is they drive on the left side of the road though.

Here is one in Germany http://www.binscorne...ns-germany.html

I'd like to see the much-postponed motorcycle chase on the Great Wall of China.

I think Craig's Bond needs some ski action to match 'The Spy Who Loved Me' and 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'...yellow jumpsuit optional.

Or just some general snow mayhem like 'A View To A Kill', 'The Living Daylights' or 'The World Is Not Enough'!

I read Ice Station a few years ago. A dreadful trashy piece of work, full of ludicrous characters and situations and with sequences that go by so quick and so incoherently, you don't really know ( or care) what the hell is actually going on. I'd never thought about the similarities to Die Another Day, but now you come to mention it...... :-)

since there doesn't seem to be a ski chase in skyfall i'd enjoy that in Bond 24.

That or even just a winter setting I'd be happy, but go figure I'm Canadian ya.

I agree. All of Craig's films have had a tropical feel. It's about time for a major snowy setting.
