As the credits roll on "Dr. No" (a film that gets better every time I watch it), they scroll upwards underneath a curious logo - silhouetted Bob Simmons in a red circle. This is clearly taken from the gunbarrel which opens the film, and it's a rather striking image. But I've never seen it anywhere else. Was it supposed to be an official Bond logo?

I'm not really sure, but it's something I'd always love to see in one
of the newer films, probably a wasted opportunity with QOS, could have worked
well (what with the gunbarrel at the end).

I've never read anything about it being the official logo. I've always assumed it was a director's or editor's choice to put it there. Much like the gunbarrel in Dr. No is unique with the opening sound, so are the end credits.
