Amusingly little to go by here. Mallory doesn't in itself reveal very much - there's an M angle, but more likely some sort of inside MI6 or government role.

And obviously he was wearing a suit of cards. Most likely diamonds.

Perhaps we could turn this thread into a general 'Ralph Fiennes is Gareth Mallory' thread, mods, so that discussion about his character can be split off slightly from the other larger topics?

What is everyone expecting from the character? Are people disappointed or pleased that he isn't playing Messervy?

The original post only really said that they'd heard that Ralph Fiennes had filmed some scenes with M, he had been wearing a suit, and was possibly called Mallory. Nothing that we don't know now.
