A while ago, I was able to find an authentic version of a 720p version of Goldeneye, and it's some sort of Russian HD rip. Anyway, I uploaded the intro. It looks really nice, just thought it was something nice I would share :)

Watch it on youtube in HD,

Haven't watched that intro in awhile. Out of all of Brosnan's by far my least favorite intro.

Nah, I really enjoy the GoldenEye opening. I think my least favourite would be The World Is Not Enough, actually. Just boring, really.

Nice find. There are a couple of the yet to be released Bond Blu-ray titles that are available on iTunes in HD but Goldeneye isn't one of them so the wait continues.

I saw Goldeneye three times on cinema. All of them, people started to applaude when Bond catch the plane.

Amazing. Brilliant. Bond.

I found the Russian HD rips a while back and, unfortunately, Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies look the worst out of the batch of unreleased Blu-ray Bond titles. Tomorrow Never Dies is especially dirty and grainy, but Goldeneye isn't too much better.

The real disappointment on this particular video clip, however, is the fact that (in the Russian HD rip... and the same goes for the Ultimate Edition DVD) they used the 4:3 safe version of the title sequence, so all of the text is smashed to the middle of the screen in case the film were cropped for good ol' SD broadcast.

So I say release the damned Blu-rays already and make sure that this is an issue that gets fixed... and hopefully Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies will get new transfers. I'm not going to hold my breath because TWINE and DAD don't look like they got anything in terms of an upgrade except for some DNR and EE (digital noise reduction and edge enhancement).

Thanks for the upload, btw!

The statues and sickles symbolising the fall of the Soviet Union and the eastern bloc, all of which happened between LTK and GE is really quite poignant sixteen years later.

It's a part of the Bond series as a historical record of sorts, encompassing a regular glimps at 50 years or history -> space race, Beatlemania, energy crisis, fall of the USSR, nuclear disarmament, terrorism... not to mention fashion, cars, generic technology.

Anyway, nice clip. I like it (even though I normally don't like seeing real life people in the TS - prefer silhouettes).

Disagree there. Unlike the Kleinman designs it isn't a conceptual and aesthetic mess. You've got the CGI gun barrel that book ends it, along with the recurring blinking golden eye motif, along with the girls destroying the Soviet icons and phallic guns. It's pretty bold too.

I'm assuming you simply mean the later Kleinman designs; after all GOLDENEYE's title sequence is Kleinman's, through and through. And yes, it's his most coherent title sequence (well, CASINO ROYALE's title sequence is pretty coherent, too). One of the best title sequences in Bond history, really.
