Doctor Thong? Takes some getting used to. I'm sure Fleming would have made it work.

Hey Zen, you think you could find out what other gems are in those Fleming notebooks?

Sorry, that's all I know. Got that from the Chancellor book, I believe.

Even if you haven't read the Young Bond novels, I think you'll enjoy this look at the creation of a James Bond book/series. It's not often we get this good of a look behind the curtain.

I never cared for any of the books relating to 007 as a kid. It'd be like reading about Tom Sawyer as an adult. I mean really... who cares???

Very interesting zen - even though I have not read the books, the process to market is still interesting in its own right.

Fascinating as always. I hadn't spotted the link between Double or Die and Devil May Care. A very nice little nugget! Thanks for these, Zencat. I hope you're right and that Young Bond will return.

Thanks all.

Thanks for these, Zencat. I hope you're right and that Young Bond will return.

Well, I wanted to end on an optimistic note, but I'm not that sure YB will return. It could be over.

I suspect it'll be all quiet on the Young Bond front until Charlie is done with the Enemy series. His Fettes trilogy would be a cracking read, though, so I hope it does happen.

I wasn't aware how successful apparently Young Bond was as a series. From Zencat's articles it would seem this was by and far the most successful and for the target audience satisfying run of books. Absolute sales figures for the regular continuations may here outdo the YB books, but I don't think this kind of potential would be easily neglected. Always provided the involved parties can find a reasonable agreement, for I strongly suspect Higson is by now playing in a different league than he was before he handed in SILVERFIN.
