This might sound like a horrible idea and please don't lynch me if you think so, but how about a book series where Bond never actually saves the day? Stories where another 00 or another agency altogether (who's working with Bond) does the real work because Bond can't manage it or gets captured? I was thinking it could make Bond more "believable", it could actually convert people who dislike the character.

So is this the worst idea ever or is there something to it?
