I have promised myself that I'm going to stay completely spolier free for Skyfall. Back when Quantum Of Solace was in production, I read every spoiler under the sun, which ultimately had a negative effect on my experience of seeing the film for the first time, as I had a very well-informed idea about what was going to happen, and most of the suspense was lost.

I just wondered if anyone else was thinking of doing the same thing. Lord knows it'll be difficult!

Completely? No, I don't think that I'll be able to bring up that amount of discipline. But I'll try to avoid the most obvious ones. It's not in fact possible to keep clear of every snippet and speck of info, not if you're not prepared to cut all the ties with the internet until next year November. And throw out the telly, along with the newspapers. OK, the newspapers I read aren't that likely to delve into Bond-mania, not on the front pages; but gradually the number of articles with an interest in the film is going to increase throughout the media. And of course current speculation about characters and roles may already be leading right into spoiler-territory.

But I'll do my best to avoid or ignore what my Bond-infested mind picks up on the ride to SKYFALL.

I want to get a taste of what the film is actually *about*, which we don't seem to have yet. Once that info has surfaced, I'll back away from the spoiler section. (Though its entirely possible that given EON's secrecy and unwillingness to divulge much, what the film is about is in itself a major spoiler).

For spoilers to be a problem the film has to have the kind of appeal I don't generally seek in Bond. Most Bond films I watch repeatedly and if anything enjoy more each time (Casino Royale being a rare exeption) and you can't get much more spoiled than that....labyrinthine plots and shock value may have some value (for M. Knight Shalyman perhaps) but a longer and larger appeal doesn't rely on them, the experience as a whole is really about how the story is presented rather than the detail of what it says imo.

So all in all while I don't actively seek spoilers I don't fear them, if they really matter the film is less worthy in any event.

You simply just CAN'T!! I have found that the only people not interested in the hype of a new Bond release are the people not interested in OO7. I admit it. I'm one of those that can't WAIT until the premier, picking up ANY scrap of information about the project that comes along. The same curiosity factor that exists for SKYFALL, existed in QOS, CR and all those that went before. I don't think you can call yourself a Bond fan and NOT be curious. (It's not like we don't know how the movie is going to END or anything...)

For me, I was a little put off by the title. I don't know why the writers decided NOT to go with something Fleming wrote (there are still a few left). But still... it makes me curious.

I miss the days before the '24/7 internet news' where you didn't really know what the next Bond film was going to consist of until you saw it in the cinema. I think that wanting to know every single detail about the film, takes away the magic of the anticipation and excitement of going to see it for the first time.

Plus, as much as I love the world of 007, I don't wish to read about the new film every single day.

That's pretty much the way I approach SF, too. In those glorious days of the past there was literally nothing known about the production. During Moore's seven films there generally was a press event during shooting on location, but all they brought from that was a few sparse facts about production and cast, seldom more. Even when the title was already known you practically knew nothing about the story or stunts, not until you went to the theatre and saw it yourself. I definitely prefer that to the current custom that stuffs half the film down my throat with the trailer today.

its going to incredibly difficult for anyone to avoid any spoilers. For example what happens if you have the case of the flu and resting comfortably on the couch and the trailer of Skyfall appears on the telly and the remote control is nowhere in sight?

As a regular visitor to CBn and Bond & Beyond, I'm much less spoiler-free than the man on the street. That said, I feel I know rather less about SKYFALL than I did at this stage of production for CASINO ROYALE and QUANTUM OF SOLACE. And I intend to keep it that way (which will require some self-discipline in the coming months as the trickle of information inevitably turns into a torrent).

I have managed to keep relatively spoiler-free thus far (had a few hiccups along the way), but overall I think I'm I'm doing well. I totally agree with those of you who think that knowing too much can spoil the overall experience of the film, as I went into Quantum of Solace knowing pretty much everything there was to know about the film, and it really ruined the experience for me. Before then, I'd always paid very little attention to the specific details about the films (that doesn't mean I wasn't any less excited than the next Bond fan), and I've found I enjoyed those cinema experiences so much more. So far, all I know about Skyfall is the locations, actors involved (and who they're playing), very basic plot outline and I've had a sneaky peek at some of the pictures that have been released of filming. I hope that that's all I will end up knowing between now and when I see the film, although the temptation is always there! I will of course watch the trailer, as I always love seeing that for the first time. It gives me a real adrenaline rush!

I've been doing well with staying spoiler-free so far, for both Skyfall and the Amazing Spider-Man (those are really the only two movies I want to see this year). No articles, pictures, "first looks", or even visiting this site, etc.

Still debating whether to check out spoliers and trailers.

My feelings exactly.

Having followed the productions of CR and QOS quite closely, I can't say that I've missed following the production on SF. I find that I don't need to know any of that information. It won't make the film get here any quicker, and there's plenty of other things to do rather than trying to figure out what Craig and the rest of the cast and crew are up to today.
