Watching over Pierces movies I really am very co fused as to what accent he has?
It's not Irish for sure, and I'm quite certain that it docent sound all that British, not really all that American. s Pierce an example then of the transatlantic accent? The sort Carey Grnt was infamous for knocking out?

It is a hideous mid-Atlantic monstrosity. See also Catherine Zeta Jones and Joss Stone.

Didn't Madonna have a crappy British-esque accent a while back that made one cringe everytime she opened that hole of hers?? (My vote for the WORST Bond girl... right there.)

I don't know what accent he has, but as a foreigner, I can tell you it is the most comprehensible of all the eight James Bond actors.

Most of the time he sounded like he was imitating James Mason (whom he also resembles, IMHO), both in accent and "throatiness". Though honestly I don't know how to classify Mason's accent, either.

And of course when he croaks out "I'm going aftah heem!" in DAD, he sounds like a certain beefy Austrian.

He simply had a "Pierce accent"...in the same way that nobody else on earth speaks like Sean Connery or Roger Moore.

Agreed. People can try to pigeonhole it - but since he lived his early life in Ireland, then a long stint in England, then moved to the U.S. - his accent is bound to be influenced by those 3 regions.
