Here's a thorough examination of the Brosnan Era by Haphazardstuff who has done reviews of each era of Bond along with the Bond Formula on his youtube channel. I recommend you give them a watch. While I don't agree on everything he says, his reviews are informative and entertaining. Although his reviews of the Connery Era and Lazenby Year were pretty short (something he has acknowledged and is something he says he will be returning to), his Dalton Era review is very good and gives much praise to Dalton's protrayal of Bond.
Pierce is a different story.
While his review for Goldeneye is a little too nitpicky its his reviews for TND, TWINE, and DAD are very spot-on.
Give them watch (if you have to watch one, watch the DAD review )

I agree THX-007. I would also recommend those reviews. I felt his thoughts summed up what the vast majority of us think of the various Brosnan films. Having been a middle school/high school child when they came out, I thought they were awesome. But it's nice to kind of look back at them with a different eye now that I'm much older (late 20s).

Definitely should check them out if you need a good half-hour/45 min to kill.

I just watched the DAD review and it's a most interesting work, mirroring practically the entire critical response of the fanbase. Haphazard doesn't just rant about the film, he's really making an effort to support his points and views and - perhaps surprisingly for a fan these days - also mentions diverting views. We're never in doubt about his own opinion, but he clearly put a lot of love for the subject into his pieces. His complete DAD review comes in two parts of roughly 45 minutes each and is truly a most diverting pastime for fans.

Yup - on the basis of his DAD review, I will be watching his other output.

Honest, serious, mildly diverting sense of humour to boot.

On this basis, I feel even more that Brosnan had the potential to be a great Bond, but the crap he was dealt would have tried even the most competent of actors to serve up. A shame.

I agree with you. Although I put it this way: Brosnan was indeed a great Bond, but trapped inside mediocre Bond films.

I see him as a great Bond, in great movies. I love every single one of the 22 movies.
