I was wondering, why David McCallum was not in The Man from Thrush ep. from season 4. Anyone?

I was wondering, why David McCallum was not in The Man from Thrush ep. from season 4. Anyone?


He got married during the middle of fourth-season production (Sept. 16, 1967), so he may have gotten a little time off.

On the DVD set, one of the extras are home movies (as they're called) that McCallum shot on the set. He narrates them (the film he shot had no sound) and mentions how the future Mrs. McCallum hung around with him during third season production. He divorced Jill Ireland (who left him for Charles Bronson) in early 1967.

No problem. I forgot about a resource (Jon Heitland's Man From UNCLE Book) that has the production dates for each episode. The Man From Thrush Affair was filmed Sept. 18-22 and 25, 1967. Thus, it does appear David McCallum got the time off for a honeymoon.

This and others that are even worse............... Like the cleaning lady in HQ who has no idea who Waverly is as she cleans up his office. Just brilliant.
