Hello everyone!

I have been floating out in space for most of the summer, but I decided to splashdown onto planet CommanderBond after being gone for while. Great Caesar's ghost! What happened to CBn?! It's like I have landed here post-apocalypse!

It's like I have stepped into some weird, surreal J.J. Abrams script. No worse, it's like I have stepped into a M. Night Shyamalan script!

Where are all the moderators? Where's Gravity's Silhouette? Where is Righty007? How do I sign up for Air Technology Services?

What has happened here?!

Please, someone give me the details, and don't spare me the juicy ones!

Yeah, things are a bit, well, less than ideal. We'll see how things develop as BOND 23 gets a-cookin'.

Hello again; looks like both Gravity's Silhouette and Righty are both expressing their views on what led to their going on the Bond & Beyond site which we both appear to have joined in the last week or so, so doubtless you'll get a balanced and non self-serving view there.

Strikes me that both were leaping up and down demanding action and strong moderation and are naturally unamused that this was then applied to them.

But it looks like there was a public vote about their going so in the words of the film, give the people what they want.

Atmosphere much more placid since. The method may have been brutal and probably years too late but the outcome seems effective in calming things down.

As for news etc, standard pre-Bond quiet. I suppose if you cast your mind back to Casino Royale, at this point in the equivalent summer before we had damn all news and no Bond cast, so things may pick up soon.

Grav got nearly three times as many votes as Robert Mugabe. Which is quite impressive, really.

Mugabe still won, though.

:D

Yeah things will get better soon. Hopefully some mods return and if not, hopefully a few new ones enter the fray.

Interesting, so when was the vote and how was it conducted?

Also, why did the moderators leave?

Hi George. I will try saying "hi" to you at Bond and Beyond. I have tried contacting you on other sites, but you haven't responded.

My perusing of the "Craig Turned Down Bond" thread helped answer some of my questions. Still, where did all the moderators go, and why?

No moderators have left recently. What are you talking about? Sometimes our lives get busy and we aren't on CBn as much as other times.

Are you here for the drama or are you here to discuss Bond?

The cheques from EON Productions bounced; damn, what a giveaway.

They were fired by EON Productions; damn, what a giveaway.

They are real people and have more to do with their young lives than this; damn, what a giveaway.

I don't really know; damn, what a giveaway.

Pick the truth you feel best confirms your unshakeable preconceptions and be confident in your choice.

True, we probably should get some new blood in and it may be an opportune moment to do so but, and don't let this reflect on you badly, I'm not too sold on your audition so far, old smudge.

That is what several other people have told me, and I have seen it discussed on this site -and in this thread.

Hahaha, oh come on! I mean all due respect, DoubleNought. I know you have done a lot for this forum, and it looks like you have produced a terrific book about OHMSS, but please spare me the sanctimony!

Ouch Jim! Was it something I said? Oh, and was EON paying you guys by the hour, or per post? Zing!

Look I'm just kidding. Here is where I stand. I am just trying to get caught up with everything that I missed, and from the looks of it I missed a lot. I have read a lot of things in this forum, other forums, and my PMs that said some stuff went down at CBn. I am just looking for clarification.

The only "trouble" I plan on causing here is the trouble I cause from criticizing EON and the Craig era. The current leadership at EON, and the Craig era, have been bad for the series. I plan on discussing that topic, and I plan to continue my defense of the Moore and Brosnan era as well.

I am looking forward to a fun Autumn in CBn!

Capsule, if I may, please go on discussing anything you want.

I will disagree with you completely over the Craig era, though I will join you in defending the Moore and the Brosnan era.

And the Connery, the Lazenby and the Dalton era.

Hello SAF. I know we are often in disagreement, and it looks like we found one more topic where we aren't in agreement (I am not a big Dalton fan). Nevertheless, I am also a defender of the Connery and Lazenby era, so it looks like we agree with each other more than I realized.

I plan on starting a thread in the Roger Moore section soon, and I would love to see what you think.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer.

Fair enough, carry on.
