1) During Carver's tele-conference w/Michael Wilson (Mr. Wallace), he instructs him to call the President to extort legislation LOWERING cable rates. Why would he do this? Carver's whole psych profile is built on power. Reading Jonathan Pryce's lips he's clearly mouthing the word "RAISING". I don't know what they were thinking.

2) Am I the only one with insulted intelligence over that ridiculous helicopter/cuisinart stunt? It took all of the WOW out of the fact that 007 just jumped over that thing!

I don't know about the second, but think about it: he's lowering cable rates to make more people subscribe to him.

1997, not everyone had cable at the time, he's trying to draw more customers in. it's possible that both raising and lowering rates could each have a positive or negative effect on total income... carver knew that in this case lowing rates would attract the middle class and it's always possible to raise the rates later.

not sure what you're getting at regarding the helicopter stunt

The laws of physics prevent a helecopter from flying like that; with the nose pitched forward, it would fly right into the ground.

It's a movie, it's a movie, it's a movie.

Okay, so the helicopter stunt is technically impossible. It looked cool, it looked real instead of CGI, and it is a FUN scene in a FUN movie.

Yes, I'm defending Tomorrow Never Dies. I need a drink.
