I think you're both right. I rode he had begun losing his hair in the fifties, and I also saw photos of him in a book without his wig or his transplantations, but I don't remember the year. I have not bought this book and I don't remember its author or its title...

In the documentary Inside From Russia With Love, there's a photograph of him toupee-less, with very thin hair on top. I think in Steven Jay Rubin's book on the films, there's a photo of him at a Goldfinger premier, again toupee-less. He has hair on top but very thin.

I heard that Connery had little help on the first two Bonds. It was only when he went to make 'Marnie' did Hitchcock insist he wear a piece, or had some help, from around Goldfinger/Thunderball he had the piece. In YOLT and DAF he 100% had a wig. Just look at the scene where Bond and Kissy are underwater, he isnt wearing the wig, not to mention in YOLT the fact he wig changes colour between scenes.

Having sadi this though Dalton got a lot of help in the hair department, and Craig gets an awful lot of help as well

Dalton had an interesting comb over in LTK while Craig is said to wear plugs or have some help

While when he is James Bond the sides are filled in and his hairline is brought forward.

I believe Moore even used a little help in the hair department for AVTAK. I guess that makes Laz the only Bond without any hair help (of course he was the youngest and a one shot Bond).

I suppose Brosnan wins in the hair department overall, though Moore isn't too far behind. In Moore's defense, any help he had in A View to a Kill was because of his age, whereas Connery needed help even in his early Bonds! Lazenby doesn't count - he only had one!

That was quite an interesting interview. Well, the questions were subpar, but Sean Connery is infinitely watchable.

Interesting, he has the same manner of dealing with interviews as Craig. No playing for the camera, just straight insightful answers, and a hint of polite boredom.

If the Bond actor was say late thirties early forties he could maybe get away with it (as Connery did), but being near Roger Moore's age when he was doing AVTAK i'd say the UK press would have a field day if 007 was sporting a syrup.

I missed this link scanning the topic yesterday. Connery's hair could rival Conan O'Brien in the last picture.

You know this is the strangest topic I have come across on this forum. It reminds me of the time I saw Connery at the National Film Theatre promoting NSNA. Someone from the audience said to him, "I know this may be a trivial question, but why didn't you wear a toupee to promote the film. Connery replied, "yes my hair is pretty trivial" to roars of laughter from the audience. In a more serious note he did go on to explain that Bond is an acting role that requires a certain look, (like some characters have a beard) and that requires make-up to become that character. In life he is just Sean Connery who is bald like a lot of us.

I figured he did for DAD, didn't know about TWINE though. GE and TND apparently were all him though, which is what I figured.
