The rest of the "Bonds" should follow suit, especially, naturally, Connery.

Never going to happen.

I agree. Other than his comeback in NSNA, which didn't turn out as he wanted, Sean Connery has spent a long time putting Bond behind him. Roger Moore, by contrast, seems comfortable with his ex-Bond status. I'm looking forward to this new book.

I agree there will be no book specifically about Bond from Connery and that he has spent a good amount of time trying to separate himself from Bond, minus his comeback in NSNA. The only problem with that is that Connery voiced Bond in the officially licensed EA videogame FRWL in 2005 and he was enthusiastic about the project and stated he would "love to do something like it again."
Doesn't seem like a guy who wants absolutely nothing to do with Bond..

I think he was just doing his part to hype up the game. Like when he said DAF was the best Bond script he'd read

Well he did contribute to the Bond South Bank Show when QOS came out. Don't go holding your breath for the book, but he hasn't totally avoided the subject in recent years.
Also, I always say this when it comes up, but that's just because I believe it; I'm sure a film heavy on verbal humour read better as a script than the previous Bond films.

Well, what ever you may think of its direction, DAF does have a very sharp screenplay.

I've become a major cynic having seen some of the crap peddled for a few more ££££s/$$$$s in the name of Bond, and in this case I wonder if Sir Rog will know he had anything to do with this book?
Just a thought.
I have to say it does seem a bit cynical and excessive to me that this is coming out, what, four years after his autobiography? Did he hold back on all the Bond stuff there for this? For that matter will it really cover anything that hasn't been said in that book, the commentaries he recorded a few years ago etc. Still, it's harmless enough I supposes.

I thought that in general, the Bond movies were not covered in that much depth in his Auto; I think the Bond years took up less than a third of the book so I'd imagine there's a lot of stuff still to be mined from the experiences on those 7 movies.

I also have this book. Fun, with a considerable amount of background material on the making of the film.Did any of you read Roger Moore's diary of the making of LALD? Quite an interesting read. I've still got it in paperback somewhere.

I think Sir Roger Moore was the only actor who stepped away from the franchise amicably. The other guys, (Sean Connery specifically) were given the perverbial F.O. Poor Pierce Brosnen got fired via voice mail after all. I don't think they'd have any nice things to say about Barbara Broccoli or Michael Wilson.Looking forward to it.

exactly... didn't he cover everything already in his autobiography? They could just cut and paste from that....
Not really. Only a small portion about Bond was in his autobiography. But still a intresting read neverless, very witty just like R.Moore.

Reading the 007 Magazine article, it looks as if Sir Roger will be commenting on more than his own Bond films, which should make it interesting.
Cool. I really liked Ffolkes, Gold and Crossplot. The Man Who Haunted Himself was pretty interesting too.
Any news about this being up for preorder? I hope it is out in the US too.

I'm pretty sure that Sir Roger will be commenting on the other Bond movies - not necessarily his own other movies. The title of the book is Bond On Bond after all.

I had the impression that Dalton was the chummiest with the Broccoli family and the Bond franchise in general.

'My Word Is My Bond' was a really good read, very interesting and thoughtful about Bond and Roger's life, so looking forward to this one in September!
