Hatchards has announced a Limited Signed & Boxed Version of Carte Blanche.

Unfortunately, I'm not as flush as I was in 2008, so I don't know if I can afford to scoop up all these specials as I did with Devil May Care. Might need to pass on this.

750 isn't as limited as the 500 DMC editions. Be intresting to see how the collectors market pans out. Jeffery's signature won't be scarce like Faulks.

You dont see the DMC with the Bentley inside that sold for £1500 on eBay anymore. Looks like they all went to collectors in the end.

Snap the Hatchards deal up before the booksellers start selling them for £200+.

I don't know... I pre-ordered it too, and I'm glad I did, but I kind of wonder if they overreached the market with an edition of 750. That DMC sold out impossibly quickly on Hatchards. This one's hung on for days now.

And if you're willing and able to pay, you do see the Bentley edition of DMC pop up on Ebay still from time to time... Just keep your eyes peeled!

Yep, just checked eBay and a seller has it for £290 and has got 4 available. So they must have ordered 4 in advance. This reminds of the Hurracine Gold limited edition on the Waterstones website. It was still available to buy for £17 from Waterstones and sellers had them on eBay with a lovely mark up. I don't think these carte blanche editions will fetch as much. Maybe when they first come out, but expect to see that price come down. I am also surprised they haven't sold out yet.

That's a really disgusting mark up. And all the guy is doing is pre-ordering them from Hatchards for his buyers. Of course, he doesn't say this.

Makes me half tempted to put a listing up for the Limited Edition of Carte Blanche telling people it isn’t a listing for Carte Blanche but pointing to the Hatchards link. I mean, £190 is quite a profit to make from someone unsuspecting genuine Bond book collector. Although, any collector with any savvy stays away from listings like these. This limited edition won’t go down in value (they hardly ever do) so I’d advise any Bond Fan to snap it up. Whack it on the Credit Card or get a paper-round if you have to, but stay away from eBay. Remember the Devil May Care limited editions were selling for £600+ on eBay when the hype was at it’s most. I think the Bentley editions were reaching £2000 when it was at it’s most frenzied.

I did think that $19.99 price was too good to be true, but that's what they said. Let's see how things shake out in the weeks to come. I should have some more info next week.

Yeah, I feel like that 124.99 price is probably a mark-up judging by the huge discrepancies in the other editions' prices...

Damn, that's a lot of special editions. I kind of regretted not going for the signed and boxed Devil May Care, but given I've seen the UK paperback on sale here for $1 and still haven't picked it up, it's probably fair to say I'm not too enamoured with collecting editions of Devil May Care.

That said, I've pre-ordered the Waterstones signed and boxed edition of Carte Blanche and will probably pick up your bog standard UK hardback as a reading copy too.

This does look like a mark up, avoid it and go with Zencats link. The DMC indie editions were sold for the normal cover price, then on eBay they were fetching £200 at first. I had to look hard to get a copy. Seems a lot easier for CB.

These Bentley editions will probably end up in cabinets and showcases anyway. I doubt the books are ever read. Might as well put the Shrivenham phone directory under the lid. Which reminds me - I used to have a bread tin looking astonishingly similar to that Bentley-thingy. Wonder what ever happened to that piece of superflous furniture...?
