AgreedGood news. To be honest I'm ready for a new (and male) M, but I didnt want it to be this film. The last two film did a good job in establishing the M/Bond relationship, and why M completely trusts 007 to do the right thing and lets him break all the rules. We need to see a film now with the payoff from that, where M just sends Bond off on a mission and lets him go about it unleashed.
Dame Judi Dench confirms she is back as M

I'm fine with Dench as M, but I'd like to see less of her in Bond 23. I'm a little tired of the whole Bond-M thing. Been a bit played out.

That being said, if she says the word "personal" in any sense other than "I've got some ______ business in the loo," then I'm going to be rolling my eyes in a big, wide orbit at the writing team.

I think we can be certain that the trust stuff is over with. She's going to give him his orders, maybe teach him one more lesson, and that'll be about it.
Hope so.

I like her as M, so that's good news, but I'd like the character to be more boss-oriented. The previous movies showcased the way the Bond/M relationship settled, so now it's time for a good old plain "The boss sends you on a mission" thing.

While this news is not unexpected, I have to say I was kind of hoping she wouldn't be coming back.
Same here, but then again, they do work nicely together, although their banter is becoming too much expected and chiche.

Fine by me. Which I am sure will please them.
I heard that the caviar, at their party, spelled J-I-M
Yes, great news. Like the Dove, I agree that Dench has been great as M. One of my favourite interviews with her about the character is when she confirmed she is playing the same person she played in the Brosnan era.
