Spottiswoode wanted to cast her. But MGM had other ideas.

Monica Bellucci has received the most votes as the ideal Bond girl of the 38-year-old film series.
She is a total hottie I'd like her in my bed... I mean as a bond girl

My vote goes to Diane Kruger.
Maria Grazia Cucinotta should have been Elektra King in my mind. She's another ideal "Bond girl".

A new term is required to designate older women people are determined to see cast as Bond girls. MILB?

As in "Dude, did you see that MILB in that movie? She can really, like, act and has a sophisticated european sounding name. She has to be cast or I'm boycotting Risico".

On principle, I don't see Bond management going for Ms Bellucci - as lovely as she might be. Wasn't she quite publically Mr Brosnan's oft-quoted ideal casting....?

Well, Casino Royale was also Brosnan's oft-quoted ideal Bond movie... just saying.

And a natural final chapter for the Bond camp to acquire the rights to.

I can see Miss (I refuse to call her Mrs.) Bellucci as Sylvia Trench. So what if she's a few years older than Craig, she's beyond sexy.

I believe MGM shot her down because they wanted an American actress, someone also well known.

I heard that Paris Carver's scenes were reduced because Hatcher was pregnant, I wonder if the role would have been larger had someone else been cast.

I don't know about anyone else but just because a BS story is doing the rounds for half a day does it mean someone on CBN has to jump up and even mention it? Does no-one have a BS-detector these days?

Admittedly, the mods have not popped this one up on the main headlines.

I think shes a little old now (despite looking incredible), but its a huge shame she never was a Bond girl during the Brosnan era. Had she played Paris Carver she would have improved the movie immeasurably. Not only would she have added some much needed class and elegance to the role (and the film) its quite easy to believe she might have been one of those Bond girls that Bond really fell for. Teri Hatcher, not so much.

I would like Elizabeth Mitchell as a Bond girl. Damn she's so hot ! :cooltongue:

I thought I was the only one who found Elizabeth Mitchell insanely beautiful. And she's just got a classy, Grace Kelly thing about her thats missing in most actresses these days. Those eyes...

Well I went one for two on what I knew about the character of Paris and Belluci's association with the role. Not too bad eh Gravity ;)

I do remember around the time that the reports of trouble on the set were being reported. One of the stories was that Hatcher was upset because her character was reduced to just a handful of scenes (supposedly because Teri Hatcher was "difficult"). I suppose if you throw one rumor in with a story full of truth, one tends to believe the rumor is true as well.

Maybe she could be the sexy "M" of the French Secret Service. Be that as it may, at 46 she's far too old to be a Bond Girl, and she'd be 48 when BOND-23 came out. The unwritten rule in major Hollywood motion pictures is that as the leading man gets older, his leading ladies must get younger, his guns bigger, and his red sports car flashier. By the time Roger Moore quit the role he was practically being paired with fetuses.

Why french? She's italian. (not that I would mind, though...)

We also have to remember that she played alongside her husband in "Agents Secrets" the part of a french secret service agent. She was, well, mildly convincing, to tell the truth (but then again, I never thought she was a good actress anyway; she practically spoils the whole Matrix movies). So, to me, it's no big deal she was never cast as a Bond girl.

No Bellucci in fact has the dual nationality on her passport. She's Italian born but she's French officially now. She's very convincing in "Secret Agents" and in "Don't look back" or "Malena". If Maria Grazia Cuccinotta has been a Bond girl, she could be play in a Bond film too.
